I have a Squeezebox Touch, with an external hard drive plugged into through the USB port. The Touch can play the files on the hard drive fine. I can access the hard drive over my household wireless network: I can see, edit, and save files through my PC. Using Windows Media Player on Windows 7 I can open and play the tracks on the hard drive. However: when I edit genres or other file properties in Media Player, these are not reflected on the Squeezebox. I have tried 'wipe and rescan' on the Squeezebox and 'factory reset' but the Squeezebox seems to remember settings, and genres which I have deleted. How can I?
- Clean the cache of my Squeezebox so it really does 'forget' old information like genres I have stopped using?
- Up-date file properties in future?
All help gratefully appreciated as I have used about every option I can find, short of throwing the thing out of the window... ![]()

LMS icon in system tray > Control Panel > Advanced > Clear Cache then hit Apply, now try a rescan.
