Hi.  I purchased a Squeezebox touch a couple of months ago. Recently I sent it off to be modified and bought a Bel Canto DAC 1.5 to go with it.  Yesterday I received the modded Squeezebox, a power supply and the DAC.  The headphone amp I'm using is a Schiit Lyr.  Music came out of the phones but at a very low volume.  It wasn't right.  The squeezebox touch was at max volume, the DAC had fixed volume and the amp was at normal levels for pretty loud music.  I tried coaxial and optical which produced the same volume apart from when I initially introduced the optical cable where the volume was normal for a short while.  I was listening to tunes via spotify.  I can't figure out what's going on.  Does anyone have a clue?

many more experienced users there that may help you debug the problem. The first thing I test is whether I get the volume problem without the DAC being used (i.e., use the analog outs of the TOUCH).  If the problem still exists, you know that it is something with the TOUCH and not the DAC itself.  However, if you don't find problems with the analog outs of the TOUCH, there might still be something wrong with the TOUCH's digital outputs.

Anyhow, folks at the other forum might be helpful. You should report a bit more detail as well regarding the types of mods done to the touch and the company that did them.
