Hi everyone!
I just bought my squeezebox for 2 weeks and it was streaming nicely internet radio. Until the point I decided to connect my squeezebox to my Synology DS211+ in order to listen to my music. Installed the needed server package, LMS, version 7.7.1-001. It scanned etc, worked fine. Well, when trying to listen to internet radios again, I get this error:
"couldn't resolve ip address for opml.radiotime.com"
I actually have to go into configs, then advanced configs, then network configs, and switch the collection it's connected to, to mysqueezebox.com in ordre to get my internet radio working again... And asap as anyone switches to the synology connexion, same mess starts again... Actually, when connected to my Synology, sometimes the "Internet Radio" button does not appear anymore...
Anyone could tell me why my Synology collection can't reach the radios? Any port to forward on my NAT rules? I don't have any physical firewall, and my Synology isn't running any.
Thanks for your help

Hello Psychokiller188,
The ports needed for the Squeezebox to work properly are TCP 9000, TCP 3483 , UDP 3483, TCP 9090 and TCP 9092.
Also check to see if you have to manually port forward Squeezebox to your Synology.
I have seen Squeezebox's work with Synology before and haven't seen any problems such as these. I would also recommend that you visit http://forums.slimdevices.com to get more assistance in terms of getting your Nas Device to work along side with your Squeezebox.
Hope this helps.

Hello and thank you for your reply!
Do your mean I should give a try forwarding "TCP 9000, TCP 3483 , UDP 3483, TCP 9090 and TCP 9092" to my squeezebox or forward them to my Syno? Might sound weird question I know, but as far as I understood, Squeezebox connects to internet radio through the collection it's connected to, so my logical answer would be forward them to my Syno...

Oki, tested a bit around myself actually. The solution is yours, it works. And to answer my question, you have to forward the ports TCP 9000, TCP 3483 , UDP 3483, TCP 9090 and TCP 9092 TO THE SYNOLOGY and not to the Squeezebox.
Thank you for your help!

Hi - I've got the exact same problem. Everything was working fine for 2 weeks, then seems to want to switch between the remote squeezebox server for internet radio and my local NAS server for my stored music. I've set up port forwarding as suggested but nothing I'm afraid. Countless reloads of firmware later and my heads going to explode! The NAS is a Q-NEP 209II.
Help appreciated.

The most common reasons for what you are seeing (selecting online content forces player to disconnect from LMS and connect to MySB.com) is:
1. your NAS is not seeing the internet at all, check network setup on NAS
2. another NAS process is using the LMS needed ports, stop all other processes, stop & restart LMS
3. LMS booted up too soon before NAS completed it's own network configuration, so now LMS is not configured for online content (LMS stop & start usually resolves this)

I have the same problem.
What does LMS stand for & how do you stop & start it?
Also, I have 2 receivers, & one is often not recogonised, any thoughts why?
Thanks

Logitech Media Server
The Squeezebox server you have running.... somewhere. How you stop/start it depends on the LMS version, computer, OS.
