I am tracking down an issue where iTunes starts by itself after boot and several times per day, crashes and restarts itself.
The symptoms are as following:
1.) iTunes opens a few minutes after system boot.
2.) iTunes opens the log-in window multiple times, does not accept credentials and crashes.
3.) Logitech Squeeze Box Server seems to be the root cause of the crash. If I set the Squeeze Box option not to open after boot or log-in, iTunes behaves normally.
I opened Logitech Media Server Preferences and did a new scan of the music collection. iTunes starts between step 6 and 7 (Playlist Import and CD-Cover Import).
I get the following errors in scanner.log:

How can I stop these automatic restarts and cashes of iTunes?
