Yesterday it was great (she said...). Today I can't get it up. Why does this happen?  Today the squeezebox controller, nor the ipad app, nor the web interface can find my players.  Network health is great, wireless signal is 100%. everything worked fine yesterday. now I can't connect between my (ageing) PC and  the system.  Not the first time, but this time turning the router and Pc on and off hasn't done the trick

On the iPad and Controller try selecting My Music, see if it offers to connect them to your local LMS.

sorry what's LMS (I'm not a technical type and now wish I'd bought Sonos)

thanks, it does now - it has mysteriously started working again. what should I do when this happens again?

Same thing.  

You can also check the diagnostics if it happens again, see if ALL pings, ports, IP's are ok.

Right click little LMS icon in your system tray > Control Panel > Diagnostics (I'm assuming WHS version offer the same little icon as on WinXP).
