Note that I do not have my G940 installed currently so I might miss something. Post specific questions if you need more guidence. I'll try to step through clearing axes assignments in FSX.
First thing: Create a FSX profile in the G940 profiler. Dont make any button assignments yet. Do make sure that your controller axes are set to their defaults. Then use your FSX profile to launch FSX.
Once FSX is up:
Click on Settings.
Click on Controls
Click on Control Axes
Click in the controller type window and select your device.
Scroll down through the Assignment list and delete every assignment.
Once everything is deleted, go back through and assign your control axes. Keep it simple and basic. Dont worry about buttons. Buttons are best done with the G940 profiler.
Now do some test flights. If your control axes are working, you are ready to make button assignments in the profiler. Again, keep it simple.
If you are having problems, please post, or PM me your specific questions.

I pretty much managed to get things sorted out...I noticed you have to launch FSX from the profiler rather than windows itself to maintain the configuration...I wonder why FSX randomly assigns commands to buttons and switches rather tan following a logic...
the only (so to speak) issue I'm encountering now is the throttle setup: throttle increases only when the control is at 100% and decreases only when set to idle, is there a way to have the step by step control?
I have currently assigned the "forward" to throttle increase and the "backwards" to throttle decrease, is this setup ok??

I talked to a Logitech tech in Halifax, NS (Canada). Richard was not totally familiar with Microsoft Flight Simulator X(Gold), yet he felt the reason my Logitech G940 was not working was a problem with the Microsoft software. I will appreciate all the information folks send. I've tried some, and nothing seems to work. I have used a Logitech joystick, CH products(pedals and panel)and most recently the Thrustmaster. CH stuff and joystick are old, and the Thrustmaster, like the joystick, befuddled this longtime pilot(25 years in many aircraft makes in many areas of the universe). So I am open to suggestion. Thanks. Dr.(not an MD)R.D.B.(Ben)Laime in Albuquerque, NM. 505.332.4613 (I'm age 77 , yet keen of mind). Cheers

Remember that G940 is for FUN and it works well if you set it up correctly.
If you think about yourself you are real and very profesional pilot you should not be complaining about this as it works fine for amators what you can check in my tutorial.
However if you are not happy and you think you deserve for 100% real experience you should check this:
http://www.fscockpit.eu/shopfsc/pokaz_produkt.php?
and get the throttle for over 5000 € .

hello again,
all that you have whritten, i have done from the beginning when i started to play FSX and that was always good.
but that was not the question.
when i want to assign a throttle button ( or joystick ) in fsx control settings ,than i get keyboard numbers like s or chift + u .
which it is still doing, so the problem is still there !
i remmenber that that has something to do with recognizing the hole joistick in fsx .
futher more i can use the button 123 fully when i start fsx with the profiler,
and the buttoms all work that way , just cannot asign a button in settings because i get those keystrokes
i nothist an other tihing .
when i wan't to callibrate the joystick in fsx ,then there start the problem, because not one bottun is lichtning up.
when i calibrate in windons (7 64b) device and printers ,there works everything normal. every button lights up the way it should be.
oke, that sayd , i have to tell that i am very VERY heppy with this joistick ,love how it looks en to work with it and to me it is worth the money ,but,,,,
i am now after a hafd year or so of using it for almoste every day ,,the thtottle handels starts to show problems with r1and r2.
when in callibration mode , i nothist that when the throttle is full open , the r1and 2 is flipping all the way done ,and when i return the throtle a bit down , all is normal again ,and this is to blame on throttle 1 ,wher the r1an 2 is located
so this means that i have to bring it back to the store for repair ,
i have 2 years of waranty so thats not a problem ,
my other question is therfore , wil it be replaced by newer parts , because that is what i have read somewhare,,
it seems that i am not the only whan to , and they say that the parst wiil be replaced by parts where that problem is fixed ,
is that raily the chase or,,,,
