So I buy a $300.00 gaming controller and the manufacturer can't even provide follow-on support by releasing a simple driver update? Guess what brand I won't be considering in the future...

Logitech,
As of this moment...
Faulty Logitech G27 drivers are the only thing holding me back from going to Windows 8 full-time.
Intel's chipset drivers worked,
Creative's sound card drivers worked,
nVidia's GeForce drivers worked (and are even WHQL'd for Win 8!),
Mouse/Keyboard drivers worked,
Browsing/Email software installed correctly,
Office software installed correctly,
Gaming software (including iRacing) installed correctly,
....
Logitech,
Is there a time-frame for Windows 8 G27 drivers or a workaround for getting Force Feedback to work?

This is a User to User Forum. Logitech employees do respond sometimes, but you may get better results trying to call or email them.

I have contacted Logitech support.
The unhelpful response has been: We don't have anything for Windows 8, which has not been publicly released. Check our website often.
The preview of Windows 8 has been available to the public for a while now, and other manufacturers are ready for it.
The Logitech drivers team needs to get their head in the game.

I agree, very disappointing on Logitechs behalf and their customer support regarding this has been nothing but woefull.
Will seriously consider where my money goes next upgrade.

Contacting customer support is useless, as the person below said, the official stance on support is that they do not support Windows 8. It sounds like they are waiting for it to be released before addressing the issues and as always, blame Microsoft. There is a reason why there is a developer preview and a customer preview. This is to get you (Logitech) a chance to test your devices you charge people for so the customer, the one that buys your devices are able to switch without loosing features important to them. It is great to see how little Logitech's customer service cares about people that already spent money on them.
What bothers me most is that there is just no word, are you working on it? Does anyone care? If Logitech has no word, no idea, and are giving this "not released to public" speech makes me wonder how long it will take before they address these issues.
It has been my experiance that these are security related issues. This software (form my inital analysys, behaves much like a computer virus, which is why the effects do not work. I trust this is not a virus so how and what do I give permission to allow it to work. Sadly I do not have the tools Logitech has and am forced to guess, it will take me days to do what Logitech can do in an afternoon. I keep forgetting and need these kinds of reminders on why I do not buy Logitech stuff.
