It took me a bit to find the command window and run as admin.

To run the command window as admin in Windows 8:

- Bring up charms bar on right side

- Click Search

- Start typing "Command Prompt"

- Right click "Command Prompt"

- Click "Run as administrator"

- Confirm with User Account Control

FYI, you can directly start by step three, if you are in the Windows 8 Metro desktop (and maybe you can start typing even in the "standard" desktop, didn't try yet). :smileywink:

Re: G25 driver problem for Windows 8 consumer prewiew

@gimpymoo - No prob. Credit goes to the QA and software team for this one though: At this point Windows 8 is too far out for me to start stressing about (Most of my projects have me focusing on a 2-3 month rolling timeline into the future) and they were the ones that got the solution to this. I'm merely the messenger, but I will be sure to pass on your thanks.

The installer should work fine with later releases of Windows 8 :smileyhappy:

Re: G25 driver problem for Windows 8 consumer prewiew

I also found out that, if you right-click the Start-toast, within the list of "power commands" is "Command Prompt (Admin)"... which is even quicker!

Re: G25 driver problem for Windows 8 consumer prewiew

Hi Charles

I have done as you outlined in the part for 64 bit systems, down to step 5, when I get the following warning:

The module C:\Program Files\Common Files\Logitech\WMDrivers\wmfrc.dll failed to load.

Make sure that the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or

dependent .DLL files.

The specified module could not be found.

Any ideas?

I am using Windows 8 release preview 64 bit.

Re: G25 driver problem for Windows 8 consumer preview

I think I have cracked it, I went to www.wingmanteam.com at first I did not think that it would help as the last entry was for 2009 but then I thought what the hell, give it a try, it cannot hurt. So I downloaded the software and installed it as Administrator (right click on download) and the install sailed through no problems what so ever. Come on F1 2011 at last.

Also I did not need to install the 2 .dll's as FFB was already enabled.
