G27 and Logitech Profiler

I've been trying to solve the problem all day but I still haven't found a way to solve it. Everything on the wheel is plugged fine, USB works good and the power is on. The logitech gaming software is installed as it needs to be. When I click on the Logitech profiler to adjust my wheel's settings a window pops up and tells me that Logitech haven't been able to detect any WingMan controller.

I can still change the settings of the wheel by going into the peripherical properties of the wheel but there's not even an Apply or Ok button so after changing all settings I click close (because I can only click Close or Default) and then everything gets back to default. So it makes the wheel stay at default degrees: 200 degree. When I get into any game everything works except that I can only play with a 200 degree wheel.

I tried to remove the power and put it back again, tried almost all the USB plugs on the computer, tried to reinstall the LGS (and now it's worst the wheel isnt turning no more in games and is now really bugged) ... so yeah I really don't know what to do. Thanks to all of you who takes time to read my problem.

Re: G27 and Logitech Profiler

Well this morning I was able to fix the big bug that made my wheel unuseable but I still can't change my options. The biggest problem with this is that I can't even change the degrees of the wheel, that means that in all the racing games I play it says that the wheel I use only turn 200 degrees. But that g27 can do 900 so I'm there now trying to change default options in wheel's properties to make it turn 900 degrees. Thanks to the one that will be able to tell me what to do. I'm on Windows XP 32bit if it can help and I only play Live For Speed on the computer.

Re: G27 and Logitech Profiler

Problem solved:

-Uninstall everything even the wheel in the periphericals and then restart the computer.

-Replug the wheel, let Windows install it by itself and do some calibrations.

-Restart computer again to finally install the Logitech Profiler and voila.

Worked for me hope it can helps.

Re: G27 and Logitech Profiler

[ Edited ]

Thank you SO MUCH "mpelletier92" !

I struggled for a night and day with exacly same problem. My G27 showed up as a Logitech Driving Force and I thought I had solved it when it actually showed up (inside G27 wheel on devices & printers) as having correct logitech g27 racing wheel USB (HID) drivers! ... But as you said,to my regret also, when changing values in the settings screen for the wheel like the turning degrees, pressing close and going back into the settings the settings were not saved. Did not understand anything I reinstalled and deleted drivers and reinstalled over and over again. .... buhu

The wheel HAD WORKED on this setup (allmost) a month ago!!!! And I had forgot that I had already installed this Logitech Profiler thing then. The difference from then to now is that i got a third gfx card  and also a new case, with that case some new USB ports. (should that matter??). Anyhoo after I read your post on fixing by just deleting everything and starting from scratch, I thought I could also give it a go, why not hehh .... and when I was about To uninstall the profiler (**bleep** its hard to write with this wheel in front of me lol) , I could see the profiler install was from february this year (now soon may...) so yea it must have had some old info or something i dont see what could be wrong it's basically the same computer... yeye. But (I write all this because I want to give as much info as possible for others in same situation! .. looks like a lot got this problem..btw i have win 7 x64 using the 64 bit profiler...) now for the exciting part :smileywink:

Uninstalled the drivers from the devices & printers in the start menu inside the g27 racing wheel properties (not sure if that is a must, but I did it.. disconnected wheel, now I uninstalled  the Unlogitech Profiler then rebooted. Connected the wheel (bliip bloop whrrrr .. doing it's routine), and went for the profiler installer. Some anxious seconds... then I heard bleeping and blooping from discovering new USB devices (I got a smile on my face cos then i knew it had worked). Profiler up and running, no error message, settings properly saved in the g27 device settings (like the turning degrees and FF stuff) everything AOK. So easy yess!

And for all of you who run the profiler just for this wheel on a win vista/7 machine... no need for the profiler running. All new games support the wheel and will let you configure it inside the game. And you can reach the device settings from the settings & printers tab in the start menu. So to save some resources (and clutter) just go into settings on the profiler and uncheck "start with windows".

My too many words, but if it can help someone like mpelletier92 helped me, then it's worth it!

Logitech: This is unlogic! Fix your drivers and stuff. It should have been your staff having these solutions not other people! I am angry! Only times I see you write anything in the forums is when a guy says "I have tried it on different computers and it's the same on all" then some of your guys pop in and say "hardware error. return. warranty. blahblah." You are AWARE that you make products for computers with rarely are two similar setups? There is/was nothing wrong with my computer and I had to reinstall your software to make it work. Is not the software a part of your product? I mean if it's hardware error then you will help but when there is software error you look another way!? That is how I see it anyway. People would appreciate your HELP even if the solution is reinstalling the computer. Your guys (yeah you who read this now working at logitech) could REMIND people to try the uninstall/reinstall solution! I was so deep into it that the easiest way did not even cross my mind! I would have quit buing your stuff if it wasn't so good when it works hehehe!!!

Now I seriously have written too much :smileytongue:
