I agree that it would be better to have the wheel replaced, but that is assuming that the wheel that Logitech replace it with doesnt have the same problem. The problem that I have found with mine and fixed is a basic design/manufacturing flaw. I am not sure if this is soley related to a specific batch of units or all of them. If it is not specific to a batch and Logitech know about this problem, then they should recall the product, fix the fault and re-release the wheel. If not then I see this problem affecting almost all of the wheels in time. I will put up pics and instructions of how I fixed my wheel soon but I didnt take pictures at the time I fixed it so I will have to pull it apart again.

Which ever way you screw it, you're still screwed.
And just an update for those wondering, I had my replacement for this problem sent in January and it's still going strong.

Hi,
I´m from Brazil and I´m going to USA in a few days. I want buy a Logitech G27, but with all of these problems I become in doubt. I´d like to know if I bought a G27 in USA will work the warranty in Brazil? How can I know if the logitech G27 that I will buy can be with this problems or not? There are some serial numbers control or anything similar that?
At the league where I compete, a friend bought a G27 and got this problem. So he said to me don´t buy the G27 anymore.
Thks

If you're worried about it, which from reading through this thread you should be, then don't get one, as simple as that. Go for an old G25 or try a Fanatec, although they have problems of their own. The only other thing you can do is spend thousands of dollars on a better wheel or drop back to something like the MOMO Racing.

This is the method that I used above to fix my wheel. You could also use other types of glue to fix the optical wheel to the shaft.
