Re: G940 firmware 1.42 is now available

[ Edited ]

Thanks Charles... Am I to understand that the default behaviour of the stick has changed, in comparison to pre 1.42 F/W upgrade? I had the RTC spring turned off - not used, now it appears to be constantly activewith no way of turning it off without unplugging power to the force feedback.. To be honest the action of the stick was fine (pre 1.42, except for the reversal bug).

Also, I have been in contact with Logitech support and the bouncing me between  the retailer and Logitech has begun, as much as I feared it would. I'm really hoping it doesn't have to go through to the umpire (Fair Trading)

Re: G940 firmware 1.42 is now available

I know it has been asked (and pleaded for) many times and I hope it doesn't become too anoying.  Will the reversal bug be fixed on other axis?  Right now the rudder, throttle and trim wheels have massive reversal bug making them useless for fine control.

Formation flying is an excersise in frustration because the throttle has no fine control.  Tracking a target with rudder is a lottery and trim chasing is becoming old

Please, please, PLEASE remove or significantly reduce the reversal bug on all the other axis. :smileyhappy:

Re: G940 firmware 1.42 is now available

Thank god I'm able to get around alot of this since I use the saitek rudder pedals(much better than logitechs IMHO), which I already had and Mikkowls multi-throttle program for IL-2. I realize most people won't go out and buy another set of pedals and also fly other sims, so for that reason I say to Logitech get this fixed and release some real programming software. The mini stick is still useless.

Re: G940 firmware 1.42 is now available

There is definetely a big improvement .

Only one annoying thing are pedals.

Even if their sensitivity and dead zone had a various value changes it did not work as it should.

What I mean is when you push them you have to be quite carefull to not to activate a toe breaks. Doesnt matter how you set the dead zones, they are just too sensitive and sth should be done with them. Maybe with the firmware or with the support of the software.  The point is to be able to move the dead zone at the begining a bit farther it it should resolved the problem. I was trying several values in FSX and Profiler and it did not help at all. I think it should not be a difficult to implant such a change.

Since 1999 on virtual skies...

Re: G940 firmware 1.42 is now available

Hi all and many thanks to the logiteam for the big improvement in g940 firmware. I would like to ask if there are any news in the update for the analog axis. I'm a big fan of Il2 and now with the new Cliffs of Dover coming in 2 months it would be nice to have the new firmware update, so we could have a full able JOYstick in all axis.

Thank you

in advance!

I would like to hear more feed back from Lock on and Black Shark pilots. I also want to see more work done on the firmware. Some people are getting what they payed for. Lets please continue the study.

Re: G940 firmware 1.42 is now available

Ok finally afert one and a half year the stick is working as i expected it to do. Are there any educated guesses how many years i have to wait until the whole system is at a state where you can enjoy it?

At the moment im looking into buying new rudder pedals because aiming with the currend reversal bug isn't working. Also flying a two engined plane in combination with the reversal bug on the throttle is quite a challange.

so long

Mathias

I would really like a fix for IL2. No matter what i do with the settings, the stick feels the same....extremely hard to move!!

Re: G940 firmware 1.42 is now available

I agree with DCSRocks. I think it is time to hear some news on the firmware update. I think the meaning to have a HOTAS is that, besides the stick, the throttle (in this situation also the pedals) will work as well.  Please Charles, give us an update. I have the g940 for a year and a half and I am starting to be afraid that there will be no total solution.
