Here's the update:
www.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/joystick/G940_Upd
- This release specifically targets and improves the accuracy of the X/Y on the joystick
- The firmware updater may hang. Don't panic. Simply close and reopen the updater. The G940's firmware wont be fully written until all blocks of data are transmitted and verified.
(I have yet to brick a G940 using this even when I tried to break it
)
Please keep comments on the firmware to this thread.

I downloaded and ran the installation program on Windows 7, 64-bit.
As you warned, it locked up at this point:
Logitech G940 Firmware update tool
Waiting for device with UIDPID 46dc287 or HFU
Found 46dc287. Sending a Do_HFU command
Waiting for HFU
Found HFU
Erasing flash memory...
I obeyed your "Don't panic" instruction, closed the window, and ran it again, and it proceeded to write the 25 blocks of data to the flash memory. Hoorah!
I did a quick flight test in Aces High 2, off-line, and was delighted to find that all traces of the previously-experienced porpoising were gone! A peek at the DirectX position data confirmed that the 10-position reversal buffer on the main axes had indeed been reduced to 2 positions, as reported elsewhere by Dimebag** and MasterTec. (I.e., from ~1% to ~0.3% of full travel.)
This is a significant and most-welcome improvement, and I am now more than satisfied with the performance of my G940. What a wonderful Xmas present!
Thank you very much for getting this done for us, Charles. <Salute>

Is the installer 64bit compatible? Merry Christmas to you CB and to all the G940 community a Happy New Year!

I ran it as well with Windows 7 64 bit, and I ran into the same freeze. I then did what Charles said and it worked. Tested it with DCS Black shark and noticed the stick to be much more responsive. The trimming has been greatly improved. The stick stays in position much better when trimming.
Thankyou

Charles: Thank you very much for fixing this and keeping the community informed. I've had better customer support with Logitech than any other company. The G940 bugs are unfortunate, but I'm glad that you're working to fix them. Other companies may have ignored the customers.
I would like to see the reversal fixed on the other axes. I can't wait to try this today.

Thank you very much for the update, I had no problems and no hangs doing the update.
Please either remove or significantly reduce the reversal problem on the rest of the axis, especially the throttle.

Thank you for your efforts to give this update before Hollydays!
I installed it from my mini laptop with 7 32bit so I will not have any problems in my main rig with 7/64bit... took 5 seconds to update flawlessly...
Unfortunately
it returned my lights to green again... they've turned red (which is much cooler) a few days ago wile the PC was doing a drive cloning and wasn't completly boot up... but now they are green again.
Anyone knows how they could be controlled to be red again?
Keep up the good work guys! I recieved my G940 as a gift from a good friend (had X52pro before... and x52 vanila.. and x45... and Cougar) and this was the best HOTAS from all... now it's even better!! ...maybe it can be even more "gooder" ![]()
best regards and happy hollydays Logitech team and fellow G940 users!

I'm really glad I could get this software out before the end of the
week
Even though I've known for a while that we were planning to get
it out before this Weds, I couldn't say anything until it was available
on the website.
I'm really glad to see such positive feedback, and I'll make sure everyone on the team knows how it's going in the field. And it should work without starting the app in Admin? The halt issue is just a weird windows thing that can pop up with USB. Are you seeing something esle?
