Has anyone found a fix for this issue? I picked up the F310 not too long ago to fix my damaged rumblepad2 and the axis are a joke on this thing. Did logitech fail to quality test these?

Nope, still waiting. If possible, please contact Logitech Technical support, so they will know that more and more people are affected by the issue.

I did here was the response
---------------------
Thank you for contacting Logitech's Customer Care.
From your email, I understand, that you are having an issue with your device, and I know this could be frustrating. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we commit to get your issue resolved.
Regarding your concern, first, try to update the USB port of your computer by going to your device manager and right clicking on your USB root hub then select "update driver".
If you are still having the same issue, I suggest that you try plugging it into another source or computer. This will help determine if the issue is with the software or the computer. If the issue still persists, kindly fill out the form below so we could verify if your device is still under warranty.
---------------------
I don't believe the USB root hub driver has ever been updated for windows 7 and I also don't believe this is a windows/hardware issue. Its a direct issue with the controller.

Sadly I think the only way to fix this situation since Logitech probably won't is to throw this F310 in the trash and scour the inet for another rumblepad2 (best gamepad ever made imo)

Thanks for posting their answer. Tech support from different countries give us different response. In your case, it seems that Tech Support Contact has no idea about this problem, in cotrast to reply I got, that they know about dead zone issue and they (Polish Tech Support) sent question about it to Logitech engineers and still waiting for response.
I've bought my F510 some time ago and I wouldn't want to lose warranty on it, waiting for Logitech moves. I'm not going to buy another RumblePad 2 before getting refund on this. Why we have to pay twice to the same company for one gamepad?
Do you guys know if there is any other way to ask Logitech about their status on this other than Tech Support?

I upgraded from a rumblepad that had the dpad down button break to the F310. "Upgrade" is an overstatement. Is this the dead zone thing you guys are refering to?
Note I had the sticks pushed to the EXACT same place when I took the picture. Note the difference in where they are actually registering...
Edit: For example, playing a third person action game, I will be running along happily and then push the stick up to the far top right. The character stops running and starts walking as if the stick is only slightly pushed, despite being pushed to what should be a full run.

Hi Tamed,
Actually, by dead zone, we refer to is ignoring small analog sticks deflection. When you are trying to aim in FPP game and need to move crosshair just a bit up/down/left/right, F-series gamepad ignores delicate movement, where Rumblepad lets you aim without any problem. Please take a look at the example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TM00pVNSvXc
Problem you are referring to is our second problem actually
. Second biggest problem that makes playing on these gamepads impossible (at least, until someone find third
)
Try to contact their Technical Support and ask about the issue, this all we can do for now.

No idea about the proper name. You can just say/write that analog sticks do not go to the end of the axis when you press max on both directions at the same time, but unlike dead zone, I do not know specific name for this. I've never bought a gamepad or joystick with that issue previously.

I'll chime in here, as I didn't see this thread till now:
We didn't reduce the quality of the thumbsticks, as far as my knowledge goes. What I can confirm was that in usability testing we found that many games that use XInput are tuned to the behavior of the Microsoft gamepad, and when it came to XInput mode, games felt wrong when we attempted to make the inputs sharper. So, to make games behave properly, we followed the deadzone behavior of the Xbox 360's gamepad as closely as we could, and in our testing, this improved the feedback we were getting from the customer usability teams.
Think of it like a car. Extremely simplfied; you can lower a car to improve handling, but if you lower it too much, you run the risk of ripping the bumper off. We adjusted this "car" to be the most "drivable" with how the games were designed. I was there for that decision and I can verify it was done to smooth out the performance of the controller and nothing more. And yeah, it should prevent any off-centering with age as well, so in theory the gamepads should live longer too.
Tamed - Try rotating the thumbstick in several complete circles at the edge of movement, and that should bring both thumbsticks closer in sync. Though, again like the aforementioned mimicking of behavior from the Xbox 360 gamepads, since the thumbstick holes are round, you can't get to the corners in the Game Controller properties (To get to corners would require the gamepad to falsify movement, and this reduced accuracy in our testing). If that doesn't resolve the situation, test on another computer, and if it persists, contact support.
alenson- Actually, in my testing here with a retail F710 and a retail Cordless Rumblepad 2 with DIView, the F-series gamepad is more accurate. The Rumblepad gives ~500 value changes in the thumbsticks, and the F710 gives ~300 value changes. The same is with a corded rumblepad and a F510. So yes, while the deadzone is greater to maximize compatibility with games designed with the microsoft gamepad in mind, it's significantly more accurate than the old gamepads past the deadzone.
