An employee at Best Buy informed me the Gamepad F310 was compatible with the Mac despite the box showed it was for windows. I bought the controller, but I assumed the installation software was for Windows due to the small size of the cd. I plugged in the controller directly before any installation since I concluded from an older discussion concerning the Dual Action Gamepad compatibility with the Mac in the archives , that I could just plug in the F310 and play, but nothing happened. This leads me to believe i purchased the wrong controller. How do I get the F310 to work on the Mac OSX?

I am also interested in getting this controller to work with a mac. It doesn't seem like the dual action is available anymore so I would really like to get this one to work. I hope I didn't waste 25 bucks.
Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Try installing the GamePad Companion, worked great for me on OS X 10.6.6
It installs in your System Preferences panel.

On OS X 10.5.8, using the previous gen mac notebook, I just plugged it in and it worked. Don't forget to flip it over and change the "XInput" switch to "Direct Input." (Switch on mine says X/D)
Mac doesn't know what to do with XInput yet.
