Gaming Software don't detect Headset G930

[ Edited ]

Hi Lads, I have a little problem. The gaming software neither detect my G35 Headset nor my G930 Headset. Regardless which USB Port. It always say "No Devices connec ted"

I have dowenloaded the latestSoftware from the Logitech Homepage

OS is Win7 64 bit and yes I have choosen the appropiate Software. Have tried to run as administrator but no success here either.

Aprt from that the Headset work fine and gets also detected as a G930 from Windows, but for some reason the Game Software don't pick it up at all

Really **bleep** as Surround Sound is only possible with the software.

How do you have the headset plugged into your PC? Directly or through something like a KVM?

Re: Gaming Software don't detect Headset G930

It is directly connected. So is the G35 when connected.

Well for some reason I could install the software came with the headset so in the end I can configure the buttons and have surround.

However I usually always download latest software from the website as software delivered on the CD is in most cases out of date. So this is really strange to me that later software dont detct it. I have tried everything. Install in english. Installed in German (I am native german) As Admin, every possible compatibility mode. Nothing worked.

Funny to mention that after the 35th uninstall  and reinstall I have forgot to unplug the headset before reinstalling. Guess what the software prompt me to remove the G930 Headset so there seems to be a detection. I did. Insstallation went through. Repluged the headset and back to square. "No devices connected" -.-

But as long you produce such nice headsets I guess I have to life with that ;-)

Re: Gaming Software don't detect Headset G930

Well, we can always try to fix it :smileywink:

SO, we have a situation where the LGS software, when actively pinging the bus for the VIDPID sees it, but when passively looking for it while running, doesn't. You might have some "ghost entries" in your device manager that could be interfering.

Let's try that

First, unplug your headsets

Click Start > type cmd into the run box and hit enter

In the Command Prompt window, type out the following commands

C:\>set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1

C:\>start devmgmt.msc

When Device Manager launches, click on View, and select Show Hidden Devices

Expand the "Sound, video, and game controllers" tree, and you'll see a ton of speakers. Black items are currently plugged in, and greyed out speakers are not plugged in. Look for Logitech G930 headset or G35 headset, click once on it, press Del, confirm. There will also be a "USB Composite Device" under "Universal Serial Bus controllers" that, when you check Details and pull up the Hardware Ids property pulldown, will have a value of  USB\VID_046D&PID_0A1F for the G930 and USB\VID_046D&PID_0A15 for the G35. Delete that too, plus get a "HID-complaint device" from the Human Interface Devices with that VIDPID too. It will take a bit to find the correct items.

You can clean up more greyed out entires if you want. The goal is to get rid of all items with VID_046D&VID_0A1F and VID_046D&VID_0A15 off your device manager list. The only downside to removing greyed out items is really that it will take longer next time you plug in a USB device into a port to enumerate. Remove them all, uninstall LGS, reinstall as admin (those two steps are probably not needed, but worth a try), follow the install, then plug your headset back in after that.

Re: Gaming Software don't detect Headset G930

Hi Charles,

thanks for your reply.

I thought ghost devices is here may the solution and there was indeed a few,not tons as the PC is fairly new but still. Unfortunatly that didn't do the trick. Install went fine , when replugging driver was installed but didn't pick up the device. I am not sure but wasn't in old version not a prompt to plug devices before installation ends ? Because that isn't the case here. It just ask what I want to do next.

However as the G930 software is working im not so concerned, but I plan to purchase a G-Keyboard and then it would be really nice if a solution can be found.

This is the first time I have trouble with a logiutech device and I have quite a few :smileyhappy:
