Alright, so here is the problem, mind you this has occurred on two entirely different PC's, one running windows vista ultimate, one running windows XP pro, both 32 bit.
Basically, the controller doesn't seem to respond to any function on it except toggling the vibration on/off, the LED indicating there is no receiver to connect too does not flash when the receiver is unplugged from the computer, nor does the LED light up to indicate it has switched from the D-Pad to left joystick. I have had this controller for about three years, it lasted about as long as my Logitech keyboard which also lasted about three years. This controller was not heavily used, I only used it to play a few games over the years, all driving based.
As a side note, when I put the batteries in the controller, the LED flashes breifly, and when I press a button, it does the same, but only the first time I press a button. The controller does not respond after that.
I doubt anyone can help fix this, but I would be grateful if you could.

I'm having the same issue and just about the same story. Receiver LED lights up whenever I press a button, but the LED on the controller doesn't seem to be working. Controller LED will not light up.
More importantly my computer is not detecting the controller. Was working just fine before I reformatted the computer.
My comp is running on Vista 64bit, which is what it was beforehand anyway.

Same -?- problem here.. i opened pc one day and pad didnt work. Receiver is flashing but thats all. Sometimes led on pad also light but now this doesnt happen either. Vibration button though, still works. Tried to connect it to my laptop also but no luck there as well. I also own it for aprox 3 years with light use. Maybe they have some kind of expiring date. hehehe!!
Could be nice do if some tech guy could reply and tell us what may be wrong or if we can explain the patterns of led flashing from pad or receiver.
