I finally got around to tinkering with the new drivers and must say I'm rather enthusiastic about this release. (No really - I'm not kidding) I've put together a set of profiles for Rise of Flight and will post a link to them in a separate thread, so as not to convolute this one. The Logitech team has done a great job - especially considering they have had to pull people from the development of the main 6.00 driver to get these fixes to us early (or rather earlier, I guess I should say). Configuring the G940 might not be an easy task for us end-users (I'm still struggling), but I find the result very rewarding. I hope and expect that within a few days / weeks most of us will be up to par and have most of the kinks ironed out.

The Mini - joystick will not calibrate. I have installed the 5.09.131 software and the new firmware update. When I go to the Logiteck Profiler, device, game controllers,Joystick, properties, I always get the message "Some axes on this device need calibration". I click on settings and the Settings page comes up with the Calibration button and the hysteresis click button. I first left hysteresis at the default, then tried changing many different settings on the mini X mini Y axes with no result. The mini - joystick will push to a corner then as I move it along the edge to the next corner it will not go all the way to the corner, as I then bring it down the next edge it is farther from going to the corner as it bends around. As I get to the 3rd corner it is just touching the bottom edge as it begins to only make a circle touching the edges of the box. When I let it go to center itself, it is off center high and to the right. I then center it and click to finish, Go to test and it is not calibrated, it will not go to the edges, and it does not rest in the center.
When I go to the Logiteck Profiler, device, gamcontrollers, peddles, properties, I get the screen with the test tab and settings click button. I click on the click button and a screen comes up that only allows you to adjust the hysteresis settings, but not the null and other setting for the peddles.
What is wrong and how do I fix it?
Thanks,
Lynn

I've been using my g940 for more than 6 months and I liked the precision and FFB feel. Today I updated to new firmware and
unfortunately I have made the same experience as buddywoof (especially in IL2 Sturmovik and RoF).
- Regardless what settings I use, centering force is now more or less constant from center to full deflection. While with original firmware was growing incrementally, being close to zero at center and smoothly growing with stick deflection.
- The same applies to feeling the speed, at low air-speed the centering force was low while at high speed you could feel more resistance when deflecting the stick.
The feel is now completely different and I'm really dissapointed. I would return my g940 as well if it was this way when I bought it. ![]()
Please, would it be possible give users an option to "downgrade" to previous version of firmware/software?
Thanks
Stan

Hi Logitech,
so no answer here? I also asked the same questions through your normal support channels and no answer also. Again, here are my questions, I would appreciate it if you can answer them instead of leaving your customer high and dry:
1) Why did Logitech change the FF implementation (especially the Weeble-like centering) without an option for users who liked the old implementation to have what they used to have? Now, please don't tell me to tweak them because no matter how much you tweak overall, spring, damping, centering, or hysteresis settings, it is not the same as the old implementation. As Dost put it nicely "Regardless what settings I use, centering force is now more or less constant from center to full deflection. While with original firmware was growing incrementally, being close to zero at center and smoothly growing with stick deflection." That implmentation is gone and I want it back.
2) Is DCS BS BSOD issue fixed by firmware or by LGS 5.09? Is the new FF implementation from new firmware or LGS 5.09? If LGS 5.09 fixes BSOD and firmware is the root cause of the new horrendous FF implemention, please provide a way back to the old firmware.
I'm very disappointed that Logitech assumed everyone will like the new implementation. I"m fine with you providing the new implmentation as an option for those who like it but not as a complete replacement of the old one!
Once again, please let me know how to get the old feel back. I never asked for you to change it, I only asked for a fix for the Blackshare BSOD issue! You have so fundamentally changed the feel of the stick that not any amount of tweaking will get it back.

To the poster(s) complaining about the non-linear build up of forces as speed increases, mine behaves exactly as it did previously. When I start the engine I have a completely dead stick, during climb it's light and sloppy (as it should be), and durning cruise and dive the forces are firm and responsive (Camel and N.11 are the only planes flown so far). In "Specific Game Settings" I have default and no Centering Spring and 50% damper (which I may change to zero). In-game I'm using a force from between 20-40%, depending on the plane. Other than the lack of center slop, it basically feels just like it did before with one exception: The aileron forces in the Camel are a little stronger than the Elevator forces. This may be just as Neoqb intented. After all, many airplanes have fairly unbalanced controls and that was probably especially true during that period. But I did not notice the difference before.

Charles I had already tried clearing all the calibration data before posting, and it made no difference, I even checked the registry myself to ensure I had no errant keys skewing calibration after using clrcalib64 from the wingman team site, and no joy. Uninstalled all Logitech devices and software, manually cleared the hard drive and registry of all logi entries and tried again, I am nothing if not thorough.

Is there a way to revert back to the previous firmware version?
I was not able to get 5.08 to recognize the G940 after it's firmware was updated.
I play the Thirdwire Strike Fighters2 series of simulations.
Since I've updated to 5.09, and updated the firmware, the stick's force settings are no longer set by the SF2 simulation once it starts. I still get the effects for stalls, wpn releases, etc, but the stick's force curves stay just as they when you first plug in the stick.
For example, the stick forces would become more stiff the faster the aircraft's velocity, but this is no longer the case.
The force vs. deflection set by the SF2 simulation was much more desireable than what you get stock.
Thanks

I'm still waiting for an answer from Logitech on how to roll back the firmware. No answer here or through their tech support. Sad. It's obvious I'm not the only one who doesn't like the new FF implementation. I can't say I am a fan of Logitech anymore. I waited months for the DCS BS BSOD fix. They delivered on that but screwed up all the joy from my other games with this new implementaion. Been only using their products for almost 15 years for mouse, keyboard, and joystick and they can't answer one simple question. Too bad Logitech. It's quite disappointing.

Can you help ?
I'm trying to adjust the sensitivity of the rudder. At the moment when I press to go left or right it jerks rather than smoothly changes regardless of how gently I try to press the rudder, this possibly is as much to do with the mechanical nature of the rudder and its centre point.
I'm principle playing RoF, there is axis adjustment in game, which I have flattened out as far as possible around the centre, but I could do with knowing if I should be looking for a higher or lower sensitivity value in the Logitech GS , or should I be looking to adjust the rudder Hysteries?
