Not able to install G27 - Windows says "Unknown device", Profiler does not even detect it at all

Hi all,

I just received my G27 Racing Wheel yesterday and it is already driving me nuts...

I followed the given instructions, so I connected the wheel and its parts, plugged the power cord in, installed the latest Logitech Gaming Software (5.10.127), plugged in the USB cable during the install but the result always stays the same:

Windows says: The device could not be installed correctly and the device manager lists an "Unkown device" under "USB-Controller".

The Profiler does not even detect the wheel, it always says:

"Logitech profiler was unable to detect any game controllers. Please ensure the devise in connected. If your controller requires a power supply, please verify that it is plugged in and the LED on the controller is lit. Once all connections are verified, click retry. Clicking cancel will close the profiler."

I also tried an older version of the LGS (5.8) but it brings the same error. I even tried to extract the LGS-Setup file and update the drivers.inf file manually using the WIndows hardware tools.

I check this on two completely different Windows 7 Professional (64) machines and on my old Windows XP (32) machine but every machine brings up the same error.

So right now I tried everything that I found on this forums but without success...

Any help is much appreciated as I am still hoping the wheel isn't broken so I have to give it back...

Best regards,

Re: Not able to install G27 - Windows says "Unknown device", Profiler does not even detect

Hi Legedric,

If this is happening on 2 different computers, it is likely that the G27 is defective.

You should contact customer service in your region for assistance.
