SOLVED : How to use a logitech joystick in Battlefield 3 ????

[ Edited ]

Hi everybody,

For many weeks, I'm now playing battlefield 3 with my mouse and my keyboard.

And I have to admit that my performances in a jet or a chopper are really poor.

Friends of mine told me that they are using a joystick. Sidewinder to be precise.

So I found this week end in a garage sale, two logitech joystick for 4 euros.

Thay are both detected by my 64 bit W7, and all buttons and sticks are reacting in the gaming panel and the Logitech software.

But in game ... nothing ... no reaction ... impossible to remap the keys ...

I tryed to create a profile within the Logitech software ... nothing.

I tryed with a third party keyboard mapping software ( xPadder ) ... nothing.

But many people can use their joystick, so, what am I doing wrong ????

Thx for your help.

EDIT AND SOLUTION :

Hi,

Yesterday evening, I managed to make this joystick work inBF3.

First of all, I suppressed via the hardware panel any HID gaming device to keep only the Logitech USB joystick.

Then in game, I delete every mapping of the joystick for foot or ground vehicules.

Save, exit, and go back in game.

Then I'm able to remap all the jet and heli functions to the joystick.

Thx.

Re: SOLVED : How to use a logitech joystick in Battlefield 3 ????

<3 you.

This...I cannot believe it was this simple.  For the longest time I've been hindered flying jets because I had to use the "mode" ability to make the analog sticks function as a D-Pad (which results in a large deadzone, making air-to-ground runs difficult).

Finally, FINALLY, nearly 5 months after release, I feel like I can enjoy jets once again at their full potential.
