Re: Wireless Gamepad F710 losing connection

[ Edited ]

I've tested it on my laptop and on another computer: the gamepad loses it's connection every so often.

With the usb extension cable or without it, it won't make any difference.

It's obviously flawed.

I requested an RMA but they told me the product is too new for an RMA (**bleep**?).

I need to wait several weeks/months before I can get a new product.

Re: Wireless Gamepad F710 losing connection

Truly disappointing to come across this thread. Had my eyes set on the F710 for quite a while now. Unless it's PC parts, I prefer to obtain hardware via Retail stores. My local spot in Manhattan just got in their shipment and was planning on getting 3 of them. 2 for my main desktop (for NBA 2k11) and 1 to share between my M11x and Asus G73.

360 wireless receiver bricked on me recently, so this seemed like the perfect solution. I prefer the Dualshock analog layout as opposed to MS' 360 pad layout, so the F710 seemed like the perfect pad for my needs. Perfect layout, as well as no need for a hunormous wireless dongle, so I  can also use on my gaming laptops. Have 2 wired 360 controllers, but would prefer a wireless (cordless) solution.

May decide to just get 1 controller and see how it fares out. If worse comes to worst, I can always return it for a full refund. On vacation (just landed back from Cali) and was gonna run to the city on Friday and snatch 'em, but I'll wait 'til I go back to work on Tuesday and pick one up. Will report here if any connection issues arise and if I return and refund it.

Re: Wireless Gamepad F710 losing connection

it's my second reply today,in the previous topic the problem was that the gamepad could not even connect.

i'm repling here only bacause i want to state that the gamepad installed and connect just fine on windows 7 64bit.

in a quick check though(i was in a hurry) it seems that it was having issues with the buttons(the annalog x+ x- and the DPAD_UP i think)it's like they are pressed all the time.

on my machine, running windows xp 32bit, the gamepad cannot go past the installation.the drives are not exist.

anyway, i hope the information helps, please someone in charge take a look into this problems.

(tried on different machines, differend OSes, with and without the cable)

people with problem are too many, and the name 'Logitech' very heavy

Darn, I was going to buy this controller but after reading this thread, I'm not so sure anymore.

Crooks, did you test your F710 already? Same problems?

Re: Wireless Gamepad F710 losing connection

On my desktop this problem occurred infrequently (but regularly) in TrackMania. I tried 2 USB ports (back and front) - no difference. I have to note that my Microsoft Arc keyboard works without problems with dongle connected to the back. Now I'm playing Super Tux on my Linux laptop and there is no such problem. So I can't say for sure what's the cause at the moment.

I've had exactly the same problem mentioned here.I bought F710 just to enjoy from playing pes 2011 online but then i noticed that gamepad is losing its connection to receiver.

First i thought that the problem was because of low batteries and i bought rechargeable ones for it but nothing happened.I changed USB speed from bios and tried both the dongle and the usb extension cable but i still got the same issue.

When F710 losts its connection in the middle of the game you're coming mad.Sometimes this situation is not being important but sometimes it comes with the difference of winning or losing the game. That is why i gave it back to where i bought it and tomorrow i'm gone change it with another gamepad.I'm not sure which gamepad to chose but it is definite that it will not be logitech wireless again...

Yeah I just lost a game of NBA2k11 because I lost connection with the receiver over 20x in the 4th quarter. **bleep** seriously.

And the Logitech's suggestions I've been getting in the ticket aren't helping.

They even suggested buying a non-EHCI compliant PCI-e USB card and plugin the dongle there. Lol!

These F710 gamepads are useless.

@dotslasher  be sure that I really understand you because same things happened to me.While playing PES 2011 online I missed a penalty which was very important for result and in another match I scored an own goal because of my lost  gamepad connection etc etc...

That is a shame for logitech because I purchased F710 with lots of hopes and before buy it I even didn't feel the need for searching about issues & complains from the internet because i trust to logitechs name. Now I see I wasn't wrong for trusting to logitech because they are trying to help us too much with proposing very creative solutions like "buying a non-EHCI compliant PCI-e USB card and plugin the dongle there"

By the way @dotslasher I wonder which operating system are you running?Mine is Windows 7 Ultimate x64

[sorry for my bad english]
