Also having the exact same issue with random momentary disconnects. I'm using this for F1 2011, so it's a complete deal-breaker. Would have been a very good pad otherwise, but for now it's just useless. I'm back to using my (corded) Logitech Dual Action (which is the best ever, except it's corded and has no rumble).
I also own a $50 paperweight.
I guess Logitech has no intention or ability (or interest) in fixing this? I've tried it on multiple PC's, varying distances, even took my laptop away from my house and turned off WiFi (even on my phone!) to avoid any potential 2.4ghz interference.
Nothing works. Looks like a design flaw. In a mouse, it would be bad, but not cataclysmic. For a controller where I'm trying to control a car at 200mph, obviously a 3 second disconnect renders the device completely useless.

the F510 is the WIRED version. I got it as a replacement for my F710. It's been great, no issues whatsoever.
Not really sure how you can lose a connection with a wired gamepad.

Hi! Iv got the solution!
If your device is working (like vibrating, the mode led blinks), it means you have a broken nano receiver. I bought on ebay a new nano receiver and used conection utility. Ofcourse if you are out of waranty. Worked with me!

I can confirm - I lost my nano receiver so I called the local support I found here and they sent me a new one for free! I haven't noticed any lags ever since, so you might try to get a new one yourself...

Just like to throw my hat in and say my F710 is also broken. It started with micro-connection lapses, now some buttons go dead sometimes and others stick on, as well as the pad disconnecting and the "mode" light flashing stupidly at me, and refusing to reconnect.
I'm not even one foot from the reciever (I put it on a USB extension lead after it started playing up), and I've tried new batteries.
It failed after 14 months, which is conveniently 2 months outside of warranty. I know for a fact it sat in the packet for a good while before I used it so it's total lifespan has probably been less than one year.
I paid £20 for a new nano reciever, which didn't solve any problems. Now I have to return the reciever on eBay and shop for a new gamepad. It WON'T be a Logitech one.
I'm going to email Logitech and see what they say, although I don't expect anything other than "new batteries">"use connection utility">"be closer to the dongle">"buy a new USB dongle">"you're out of warranty and SOL".
I will report back.
EDIT: So amazingly enough, Logitech offered to RMA my faulty controller even though I purchaes it almost 14 months ago. I explained that I wasn't happy because I hadn't started using it for a while after I bought it so its lifespan had been less than a year, which may be why they have offered to replace it. Equally it could be that they recognise the flashing mode button as a design fault.
Either way, I emailed them proof of postage and my address, and mailed off the controller today (they even paid the postage!). Very very decent of them, after all the could have told me to get lost.
They're a much more helpful company than others I have tried to get help from *cough*ASUS*cough*, I'll update again when I receive the replacement pad ![]()

Just popping in here to say that I purchased an F710 yesterday and I am having the connection problems as well. I contacted Logitech support to see if they can possibly send me a new receiver. Im dissapointed that this hasnt been fixed yet.
Im curious if they two guys above who got new receivers from Logitech are still going strong. Are they still working as they should be with no drops?

In an update on this: Logitech did indeed replace my faulty pad for me with a new one, out-of-warranty. It is always worth emailing them and asking if they will help you too with this seemingly common problem.
Can't thank them enough for helping me, proper job!
