i ended up just buying an xbox 360 wireless adapter for my pc, it is more simple to use and program

and illusion left for dead is only compatable with the xbox 360 controller

I'm having a similar problem but with battlefield 2, i can only get the left stick to work moving the character forward, backwards and strafing left and right but can not get the right stick to get the character to look around because in that game the mouse looks around and in the controller settings i cant seem to figure out with which setting is for looking around...any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give!
