Just rec'd my G25, the clamps for table/desk only open to 3.5 centimeters, is there any way to increase this size opening? Must I now buy a new desk!!??

Is there a removable spacer on the leg as my G25 goes out to 50mm?

That should be it. The "curled up" part of the clamp pops off if you need more width.
