so i got my G27. tried playing it on NFS
hift on my ps3...all the buttons work, accel, brake, clutch, gears ect ect but oh THE WHEEL DOES NOT WORK!. i disconnected, reconnected, restarted my ps3 numerous times. tried it on Gran Turismo HD Concept and had the SAME ISSUE. NO response from the wheel
I downloaded and installed the windows 7 drivers from Logitech site. hooked up the wheel....SAME ISSUE. the WHEEL does not register....the buttons on the wheel work, even the **bleep** LEDs work and light up in relation with the accel pedal but NOTHING from the wheel itself.
Logitech had YET to respond to my support query i sent them. This product is some garbage...
Does someone want to prove me wrong on this? What am i doing wrong? i double and triple checked everything. read the usless pamphlets they send with the wheel. Logitech G27 support page is useless.
Another user had a similar problem here but no one responded but me. NOT EVEN LOGITECH. what the (expletive) is going on!? i spent a good deal on money for a product that just seems to be a over grown desk ornament..

Have you plugged in the power? On both ends?
Does the wheel spin around when you start the PS3?

same problem here... i gave g27 (bought with playseats) for xmas to my father and the stupid steering wheel doesn't work at all (everything else like pedals, shifter, wheel buttons, etc work perfectly)... and the wheel doesn't spin when I start my pc (windows 7 if it matters)... Also I was trying to download latest Wingman Profiler from logitech download page but there is none for g27 (there is one for g25 but just for windows 2000 O_o)... What the (edited)l is going on?
btw I have g25 which works without any problems...

I had the G27 fail on GT5P. All LEDs lit. Pedals worked. Shifter worked. Wheel was totally dead (except LEDs) and spinning freely without FF or input into game.
I noticed the power light on the shifter was dim. Looked all over and discovered...
The wheel was unplugged from the wall! Since it was drawing some power from the USB connection, everything but the wheel worked, including the LEDS.
I realize this is one of those stupid, embarrassing solutions that tech support always asks. But it's worth a look.

man this is bull-shiit, a new g27 with bad ffb. what is logitech doing about there bad product?? its bad on the ps3 and the pc. did u test the g27 before releasing it? if yes, then I think u can better retire from this business. day by day my wheel gets looser because of the weird ffb. I have g25 and dfgt and both are much better then g27 with ffb. I paid too much for this product, I want atleast a response from u.

EatingPie- That's exactly what I was going to suggest. Sorry I was on vacation and unable to post that sooner.
Everyone else: All Logitech wheels draw enough power to give life to the buttons from the USB port, but the wheel feedback and calibration mechanism requires it's own power supply to calibrate the wheel, and thus make it a recognized input. Always verify the AC adapter is plugged in both the wall and the unit (and, sometimes, the AC adapter's plug can get unplugged while mounting the wheel in, so always doublecheck that connection.

Hey CharlesB,
So i understand from your post that if the wheel doesnt calibrate itself on power on and the steering wheel turning has no response in the game its an issue with the power supply...right. So if i have my power cables connected, checked, doucble checked and triple checked.. then could it be that my power supply ac adaptor itself became faulty? Does the dim power light on the shifter also indicate that there is no power reaching it from the ac adaptor?? Please be kind enough to throw some light on this. My g27 is just 3 days old and it worked like a charm for the first 2 days. and the service centre in india seems to be unaware of what the issue is when i called up. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Usually, in a statistical sense, the wheel not generating force feedback is due to, of all things, a misplugged AC adapter. Other possible causes could be due to a bad wall socket, faulty/tempermental USB port on host device, ESD event upon plugin of the wheel, improper enumeration of the HID device, damaged calibration ring, blown voltage regulator, or other odd things.
For the wheel to calibrate, it needs to get full power AND be plugged into a USB host device which can recognize a USB wheel. Most modern PCs or a PS3 usually work well. If it doesn't do it's auto calibration, you want to:
Make sure it's plugged into an active wall socket
Unplug and replug the wheel into a different USB port
Unplug everything, wait 30 seconds, then replug the components back in
Test the wheel on a different PC or console
If all of those fail to produce a calibration event, then you might have a different type of failure that's internal to the device. If so, I'd contact customer support or swap out the device at a store (depending on the ideal method of hardware replacement in your country).

Thanks a lot CharlesB for the response... That was immensely helpful in helping me understand the issue better. Much appreciated.
So from the issues youve mentioned i know its not
1. a bad wall socket cos i tried on different ones
2. not a faulty usb port cos i tried on different ones
3. not a computer specific problem since i just tried it on another computer and the same issue prevailed.
So i will try to follow this up with the customer care here since it looks like a hardware issue than anything. I already tried one service centre and they dont seem to have a G27 so they directed me to another. Now im not sure if they have it either. It was released just recently here in india and not many places have it to give me a replacement or service, unless someone from Logitech India can throw some light on the matter here as to whom i should contact.
But Thank you so much for your responses...! Im just hoping i get this issue solved without much hassles and my experiences with logitech remains as a good one as it always did.
