Presentation Start/Stop Button

Can someone please explain to me why this button would be included?  If you have to manually start PowerPoint, then it is just one more mouse click to start the slide show - not a big deal, so the start/stop button really doesn't provide that much of a benefit.  But, on the downside, if you accidentally hit the f-5 (start/stop) button on the presenter in the middle of a slideshow, it is a fatal mistake.  This drops you to the PPT work mode, and you would have to immediately get to the laptop in order to scroll to the correct slide to resume the show.  What am I missing here?  It seems like this button should not be included on the cordless presenter.  It is just a disaster waiting to happen.  Further, this happened to me on several occasions when I pushed the 'advance slide' button.  So, I am wondering if the presenter sent the wrong signal to the dongle and crashed the slideshow instead of advancing to the next slide.  It's a very difficult thing to troubleshoot, as it only happens occasionally.  But, this makes it too unreliable to use.

Re: Presentation Start/Stop Button

I agree.  I have a Targus presenter, and it is a REAL PAIN when I accidentally hit the Start/Stop button during a presentation.

Does the R800 do this?

If vendors really want to include this button, it should go at the top, so that you do not press it accidentally.  Placing it near the Forward/Back buttons is a huge flaw.
