Hi goofboon,
I apologize for the delay in replying to you.
Could you do a small test for me? Turn the volume control down to half way and see if the echo disappears or is lessened? Then increase the volume until the echo reappears, if the first step was successful.
Please let me know your results.
I appreciate your patience and co-operation as we resolve your issue.
Regards,
Mike

Barring anything else you can also try turning down the hardware acceleration in DXDIAG. you can find it in the following location:
1. Start > Run > Type in 'DXDIAG' and click OK.
2. Let the tool check for driver signing.
3. Click on the Sound Tab and turn down the Hardware Acceleration 1 notch close out of the Tool and test your Mic again.
4. Repeat the above steps and turn the acceleration down anotehr notch but do not completely turn down the accelration.

Hi BigKel,
I stopped using the QuickCall with my Macromedia application because the discussion with Mona was funny but leading nowhere. So I hope to be able to try your suggestion this or next month. Maybe you know whether that Echo Cancel and Smart AEC selection options are made specifically for Skype, and not for other application like a videoconference using Flash.
I do use the quickcall now with Skype in XP and that works absolutely good. We can do a conference with more people at our side sitting around our Quickcall. The others side hears us very well without disturbing noises of for example a passing car.

Hi goof,
Do you have AEC turned on? As weird as it seems I have heard that if you turn off AEC you lose the echo.
