Quickcall USB speakerphone in Linux

Hi,

I wonder if anyone has had any success getting this working in Linux? The Logitech install programs won't work as they're available for Vista and XP not Linux (incidentally, this is a great device under Vista, I use it all the time).

I have it connected to an Ubuntu 8.10 box and the two USB audio devices (mic and speakers) show up as disabled in System/Preferences/Sound and in Skype. I think that if I could enable them in Ubuntu then I could choose them from within Skype and the Quickcall would work.

Has anyone got this working and can tell me how, or alternatively can someone tell me how to enable the audio devices and I can see if my hunch is correct?

Thanks

Stewart

Re: Quickcall USB speakerphone in Linux

I'm close too, but not yet there. After simply plugging it in, it shows up in Ubuntu Sound Preferences. I can choose it for default playback and capture under audio conferencing, and the "test" works for playback, but not capture.

Over in skype it still shows as "disabled", yet it will play audio in skype no problem (I can hear people, but they can not here me) so the only real issue is the mic portion.

Any thoughts out there? This is a great device for this purpose, I'd love to have this work.

Re: Quickcall USB speakerphone in Linux

I have this working.  See http://ozlabs.org/~dgibson/home/quickcall.html.  There's not much info there yet, but I plan to add it as I polish things up.  For now feel free to contact me on the address I give there, if you want further information.
