I have an Alienware Sentia notebook 1.6 ghz pentium 512 ram. XP Home SP2 fully updated.
Yesterday when I bought the speakerphone I installed it and it was great. Worked with Skype perfectly. WOW what a product. I used it a lot restarting a couple of times when I went out etc.
Today I had to move the notebook from one room to another so I unplugged the USB cable and later plugged it back in to use the speakerphone. It said it detected the "Disabled" speakerphone and then:
"An error occured during the installation of the device.
The driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry. This may be because the INF was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendor."
In my frustration this afternoon I formatted my h/d and reinstalled Windows and again the same thing happened. This PC only contains anti-virus software and MS Office 2003. Nothing else is ever on it nor downloaded. Frustrating thing is it worked yesterday!
There is a yellow exclamation mark in the Device Manager but when I remove it and redetect the same thing happens.

I've also had it with a Logitech webcam pato.
tfung. Yes I saw that from the knowledge base but it made no difference. I am going to reinstall Windows again today and install it before anything else.

Ok tfung. After reinstalling Windows SP2 and all the updates but BEFORE installing MS Office 2003 it worked fine. I think last time I installed Office first?
Have it working now.
On my Vista machine it also works except the lights on the unit do not function at all and nor to its buttons. I know it is advertised as working with XP, but given Vista has been out for a little while now to the public (and longer for the likes of Logitech) it would be nice to see some updated software for it sometime soon.
