880 with Roku HD Doesn't Work

I have a Samsung flat panel, Onkyo receiver and a Roku HD.  My 880 is set up and last command is to go to Home on the Roku.  Everything happens correctly but then none of the other commands work.  If I hit menu or info I get the Samsung menu. I went through the 'learn' commands but no luck.

The power on order is:

Roku HD

Samsung TVLN-T4065F

AV Receiver-Room 1HT-S7100

How do I get the 880 to recognize the Roku remote commands?

Thanks

Is the problem you are having in Devices, or your Activity?  You can always check at Customize Buttons in both Devices and your Activity to see what if any commands are assigned to either the hard buttons or the LCD buttons.

Customaize buttons.  That's it.  I should have seen that.

Thanks a lot.

Re: 880 with Roku HD Doesn't Work

I just got the Roku 2 XS and found the solution.  The new remotes for Roku 2 use Bluetooth, not IR.  The only way to program your Logitech remote to perform the functions of the Roku 2 are to get an old Rpku remote that puts out the IR signals.  I just happened to have one and set it up this way.  I used the customize buttons to learn the commands.  The only one missing is the back button.  I hope this helps.

I am thinking about buying the Roku 2 xs. Are you saying that the Roku 2 xs will respond to BOTH IR and Bluetooth signals?

Thank you!

Re: 880 with Roku HD Doesn't Work

I have the thing working, sort of.

I have the nearly the same setup - Roku 2 XS, Onkyo HT RC-160, Vizio TV.

I used the "Roku" manufacturer under "Music Player" / "Digital Music Servers".  I entered the model number as "2 XS".

That got me the device supported, and I could add an activity that used those three devices.

I checked the "Customize Buttons" and everything that I needed was already set up - I just added a couple of things I thought would be nice.

The thing that's driving me batty is that when I pick the activity that uses the Roku box, it does all the right things, but then the remote's display is blank.  It should have all custom button settings, plus the ones I added active.  Instead I have to push the device button, and select the roku box.  If I do that, all the buttons are supported and all is right with the world.

EXCEPT....

I can't change the volume on the receiver without going selecting that device first.

ARRRGH.

I expect that all the source options would be available (without having to select the device) and that the volume would be controlled by the volume keys (as expected, and I think this will happen if I haven't selected the Roku box to control it).

Anybody fix this?  Logitech has adopted the "make it and run" method of support, so if I want support, I have to shell out $$$ for support.  It almost just makes me want to go make my own learning remote and do it right.

What's frustrating is Logitech i so close to being "right", they just have rough edges and they really aren't interested in helping people fix those.

I'm afraid this is my last Logitech product.

If you did your Customizations in Devices, they are not carried over to your Activities, you have to also do your Customizations in your Activity
