Hi everyone.
I'm trying to program my Harmony 880 remote to do the following IN ADDITION to the standard steps I already have programmed (whic work fine):
Watch TV - I need to add some settings that set the picture mode on my TV as follows:
On Panasonic Vierra Plasma TV TC-P60ST30 press "Menu" button
Then "Enter" or "OK" button
Then Picture Mode toggle to "Standard" (which is the default setting)
Then exit.
Watch BluRay:
On Panasonic TV press "Menu" button
Then "Enter" or "OK" button
Then Picture Mode toggle to "Cinema"
Then Exit
If anyone knows how to do this I would apprecaite your assistance.

Hi John
I believe you can do 'sequences' with 880 if you use v.7.7.0 Software rather than myHarmony.com, but I guess you might not get there with just the 5 commands which are allowed, and because and you may need variable delays between the commands as well.
For what you require, as a better alternative, with v.7.7.0 you can add whatever you need to the start (and/or end) of an activity
1.) Add a new activity, with 'No I want to add an activity manually'
- make it the same as an existing activity, but call it e.g. 'WatchTv(Std)' or 'WatchTv(Cine)'
2.) Add the commands and necessary delays like this:-
Activities> settings> review settings> 'yes, but I want to add more control of options...'>save> next> next> next.
On the page where you can add commands, and variable delays, one at a time, to the start or finish of that activity:-
Near the add command button, 'Add action for... when the activity starts' and select the Device (for which the command is needed), from the drop down
and click Add
On the next page, select 'send this command when the activity starts' (or e.g. 'Send this IR delay', with eg. 2 secs frpm the drop down, or 'send this Input' etc.), and 'next'
Add the other commands in the same way and click Save> next> Done> Done
Regards
Chris

The 880 can only use the 7.7 software to program it. The only Harmony remotes that can use the MyHarmony.com to program them right now are the Link, 200, 300, 600, 650, 700, and the One+. The Link, 200, & 300 can only use the MyHarmony.com the others I listed can also use the 7.7 software or MyHarmony

rhachey thanks for the correction, but can't the One (without the '+') also use my MyHarmony.com?

If you go ahead with this, from the unaltered 'WatchTv' activity, you could switch to Std or Cine by pressing the appropriate alternative Watch Tv activity button, and the only effects would be the results of the commands added to the start of the activity.
I see that the 880 can show 8 activities in the LCD screen and may itself be able to shuffle them, otherwise this might be of interest (although it was written for models with three separate hard Activity buttons).

Thanks for the information. I tried doing what you say but under the available commands listed for my TV it only lists "Menu" as a command option and does not list anything about selecting Picture Mode, or toggling between Standard and Cinema displays, so I don't know what to do next. Any suggestions?

Ok John. I just checked a watch tv activity set up to include a Panasonic TV TC-P60ST30, and found that both ‘Ok’ and ‘Exit’ as well as the four Direction commands can all be selected from the drop down.
Nor could I see a command which would obviously lead to Toggling the Picture Mode, but perhaps it just needs a direction command.
(On our Panasonic plasma there are six picture settings in a loop, and a direction command, either left or right, bumps the setting to the next, but with just your two picture settings a single direction command would have a toggle effect).
I think the list of Tv-type commands which you need to add to the start of your 'WatchTvTogPic' activity should be:-
"Menu"
Then "OK"
Then "Direction Right" (or left) to toggle the picture mode
Then "Exit.”
After all there are only four commands and think you may find you don't need any delays!
If so you could also try making a sequence and then choose that from the drop down for a hard button or an additional command in any activity which includes the Tv.
Activity Page> e.g. WatchTv, Customise buttons> blue button 'Add Sequence' at bottom left.

Thanks for your advice Chris. I will give this a shot and see if I can get it to work.
