I have one lingering problem with getting my Harmony to work with my Roku and I'm hoping someone can help me out.
I created a "Watch Roku" activity and it turns on the TV, turns on the receiver, changed the TV to HDMI2 and changes the receiver to AUX, then send the "OK" signal to the Roku (basically to wake it up from the screen saver).
All of that is working perfectly. The problem is that it doesn't leave me at the Roku device so I have to manually press the "Devices" button then choose "Roku". Then I can use the remote to control the Roku.
It's not a huge problem, but is annoying and I know this remote should be able to do it. But I can't figure out why it doesn't leave me at the Roku device screen once it's done turning everything on.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike
In an activity, it is the 'device used to change channels' which determines the device-type of command which are mostly and by default applied to the hard buttons and additional commands.
You could try Activity> review the settings> 'No, I want to run the setup wizard again...' and check to make sure that the setting on the next page is 'I use my Roku to change channels'
Regards
Chris

Hi Chris,
Thanks for responding so quickly! I was actually able to get it working just before I read your reply, but I'm not really sure how I did it. I noticed that none of the commands were listed when I went into "Customize Buttons", so I went ahead and set them all up manually.
Then i found that it wouldn't let me customize the additional buttons at all. I found another forum thread suggesting that using the tab key might help with this and it did. So I went ahead and customized the soft buttons to my liking. After I did that everything worked perfectly.
I think the device didn't get added properly from the start or something since there were no default button commands listed. Anyway, it's all working now and I can get rid of one more remote!
Thank you for your reply even though I got it working without trying your solution. I'm not brave enough to mess with it any more at this point.
Thanks,
Mike

What type of device did you add your Roku as? If you added it as a DVD player as you should of, you would create a Watch DVD Activity, you can rename it latter, this would leave you with the Roku as the controlling device.

Mike, I see rhachey has pointed out the reason why it happened.
Are you using myHarmony.com?
and what is that thing about the forum thread suggesting using the tab key, please?
(I couldn't find it by searching in this forum)

Here is the thread about using the tab key:
I could not type in the input fields at all until I hit the Tab key a few times. Weird, but it worked!
I have no idea what myHarmony.com is. I'm using the downloadable software to program my remote.
Thanks,
Mike

That's useful to know. Sounds as if it might also be cured by re-installing v.7.7.0 ?
Reckon you may be better off not knowing about myHarmony.com ![]()

Thanks, this worked for me too. Personally, I think the defaul setup for ROKU is wrong, and it should do this mapping automatically.
I set my harmony 600 using the Web interface, so I went to
BUTTONS -> Change or Fix what a button does (select Roku Activity)-> Select ROKU device on right side
-> Then map up arrow on the remote to the UP in roku
-> Then map the right arrow on the remote to the RIGHT on roku
-> Map all the Roku functions to the remote arrows (FF, REW, Etc...)
Works great now! 2 years I suffered through this, glad I finally wanted to fix it and saw this thread!
Thanks!

My problem is that after setup, my 550 does not go to the Roku device settings unless I then select Roku player from devices - not a big deal, but frustrating. The big problem is that even then, the volume up and down on my 550 does not control the volume on my TV and I have to use my TV remote to do this. Any ideas?
