I have a harmony 550 which I use to control the following 3 components:

Samsung PN42C450 plasma TV

Pioneer VSX-821-k a/v receiver

Antec Fusion Remote computer case running a Windows 7 pc

I have 2 activities setup with the remote- Watch TV and Computer. With Watch TV the remote works fine controlling the volume through the VSX-821 (optical out from Samsung to TV/Sat 01 input).

But when I run the Computer activity the remote will not control the volume on the VSX-821 unless I go to Devices, select the VSX-821 then I can control the volume (computer connected to VSX-821 with optical from computer's S/PDIF output to CDR/TAPE 02 on VSX-821). It will turn on all 3 components, switch to the correct inputs on the TV and VSX-821 but won't let me adjust volume w/o going to Devices and selecting the receiver.

I have rerun the setup multiple times , had the Harmony learn the VSX-821 remote a few time, still won't control the volume when running the Computer activity. Not sure what to try next. Yeah it's not a major pain but I don't see how turning on the computer (which is the only difference in the 2 Activities) stops the Harmony from instantly controlling the reveiver's volume.

Select your Activity that you are having a problem with in the software, select Customize Buttons, and check what device and commands, if any, are assigned to the Volume Buttons, make any changes as necessary, then Update your remote.

Thank you very much that worked. There were no devices assigned to the volume UP or DOWN.

Never dawned on me to look in Customize Buttons.
