Harmony Smartphone/Android App: Registration Problem

I enjoy the ability to control my STB, TV and Receiver using the Harmony app using the Harmony Smartphone App - either from Android or IOS App. One very annoying "feature" of the curent version is the constant need to re-register the App and the Revue unit.

Let me explain - when the App discovers the Revue - it prompts to enter a 4-digit Pin Code to "PAIR" the app and the Revue unit.

I am forced to do this everything I power cycle the Revue unit - implying that the pairing information is not stored correctly. Further proof that there is either 1. a Design Problem in the app or 2. information is NOT stored in non-volatile memory. I am trying to be "green" and hence power off my TV, Revue, AVR, and STB when I am not using them.

The GoogleTV Android app does not have the above problem ... Apple Remote apps also do not have this issue i.e. once paired a Power Cycle does not lose the information.

Re: Harmony Smartphone/Android App: Registration Problem

I get annoyed when I have to reconnect the app as well. Though the Revue was not intended to be powered off so that would be my guess as to why this was overlooked. Hopefully they will fix this annoyance.

Re: Harmony Smartphone/Android App: Registration Problem

I have found that if you close the app before you lose connection with your network you don't need to re pair it. Since I have started doing this I have not lost connection unless a reboot has been required.

Re: Harmony Smartphone/Android App: Registration Problem

That is right. The repetitious registering of the App and the Revue unit is tedious and annoying. This is the only smartphone app that I have encountered with this kind of annoying task. Let us just hope and wait that they have the initiation to repair it.
