Hi
Elf55 and VHS You Can try to uninstall java and the harmony software and re-download the latest version of Java and harmony software and try to re-open the software.
dr3w amd festaman you can try manually configuring the USB drivers on your Mac
Configuring USB drivers for Harmony 900, 1000 or 1100 remotes on Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) and Lion (10.7)
To manually configure Logitech Harmony 900, 1000, 1000i, 1100 and 1100i USB drivers on Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) and Lion (10.7):
NOTE: Be sure you've installed all Mac OS X system updates and the latest version of Logitech Harmony Remote Software before you try to troubleshoot.
Connect the Harmony remote to your Mac with the proper USB cable.
Locate and launch Mac OS X System Preferences.
Click Network.
Click Add (+) at the bottom-left corner of the Network preferences window to create a new network adapter.
NOTE: If the Add (+) button is grayed-out, click the lock icon at the bottom of the window and follow the on-screen instructions.
In the dialog box that appears, select Ethernet Adapter (en2) from the Interface drop-down menu.
In the Service Name text field, enter the model number of your Harmony remote.
Click Create.
The new network adapter will appear in the left pane of the Network preferences window.
In the Configure IPv4 drop-down menu, select Manually.
Enter 192.168.142.1 into the IP Address field.
Enter 255.255.255.0 into the Subnet Mask field.
Click Apply.
The connection between the remote and your Mac will be confirmed with a green dot and Connected status indicator.
NOTE: If the Mac OS X firewall is enabled, a prompt may appear requesting to allow or deny the new adapter connection. Click Allow.
You may now quit System Preferences and begin updating your Harmony remote in the Harmony Remote Software.
Notify me on any outcome for further assistance.
Regards
Ron

I am also unable to get the remote to connect.
OSX 10.7.4
Everything is up to date.
Using harmony software v 7.8.0 official release.
I tried manually configuring the drivers, to no avail.
My firewall is off.
I'm extremely displeased. It's funny, I was just reading a business book about customer service and satisfaction and Logitech was cited as a company that uses this sytem. So, if anyone from Logitech cares, I will not ever recommend you to anyone. Is your NPI score dropping? Because I feel that most mac users at this point are giving up. You're losing a group of users who are often hardcore about a brand. Oh well.

The connection to the remote is working properly. I can ping and even telnet into the remote, but the Logitech software is unable to program it.

Same here, I was able to use 7.7.0 by booting into 32 bit mode, turning off the firewall then configuring the "drivers" manually but now with this latest release nothing works. I have a LAN connection between my Mac and my remote, I have an ip address assigned but the software doesn't detect it. I also can no longer use my previous work around.
REALLY NOT IMPRESSED LOGITECH, YOU NEED TO PULL THIS RUBBISH SOFTWARE AND AT LEAST ALLOW US TO DOWNGRADE TO 7.7.0.

Ron - I can't see how to uninstall Java on the Mac. It is not an app as such and is provided by Apple updates within OSX Lion and not from the supplier (Oracle?) as regular updates, unlike in Windows. Any suggestions?

It seems we're being ignored here. I just moved and the setup where my Harmony now resides has changed. However, I am currently unable to reprogram the remote leaving it completely useless. Please give us an update on this problem.

When are you going to bother developing these drivers properly?
Doing the same thing over and over again isn't working.
I've wasted hours of my life with this amateur pap ![]()

I just had to set up a Windows virtual machine for the sole purpose of programming my remote. I'm in the process of building a home theater in my basement, safe to say that I will not be using a Harmony remote to control it.
