Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard (64-bit)

Hello,

I followed your well documented manual uninstall, restarted  my machine, reinstalled and then restarted again.  The sioftware still does not work.  I have a green light next to my connection and have firewall accepting incoming connections.  I am well versed in network setup.  The problem is clearly software related.

I am running Mac OS X 10.7.4 with the latest JAVA upgrade as provided by Apple.  I have been a Harmony customer since before it was taken over by Logitech and there is a significant difference in support since then.  When I am in the market for a new remote, I guarantee it will not be a Harmony product.  Your support is very disappointing.

Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard (64-bit)

Following the steps in the previous page worked, but this is the most ridiculous setup process I have ever seen, took four hours of my life due to incompetent software development skills.  More likely than not, this is the last logitech product I have bought.

Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard (64-bit)

I have latest and greatest on my Macs and Logitech.

MacBook Air - working more or less flawlessly.  Able to completely program and update my remote.  Occasionally get some sort of an error setting a "region" code while updating the remote.  Restarting the Logitech software usually fixes this one.

iMac - i can run the Logitech software OK, but am not able to connect to or update the remote.

Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard (64-bit)

Hi

I am having these problems, too.

I have uninstalled the old software (7.7 I think) via the steps detailed earlier. I then restarted my computer (Macbook Pro, running OS X 10.7.4) and installed the new software.

When registering the account it didn't detect the remote when I plugged it in so I followed these steps to install the USB driver manually.

The instrustions say to choose "Ethernet Adaptor (en2)". I do not get this option, only "Ethernet". I chose this, but I do not get a green light. There is also one other "Ethernet" interface listed, which represents my regular Ethernet port on my laptop. So I was just adding this second one for the Harmony.

As I say, no green light, no response inside the 7.8 software.

Please advise how to proceed, having spent £££ on this item.

Thanks.

Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard (64-bit)

After reading a lot of threads around the inernet it looks like there's no solution for this problem that seems to have existed for years. I feel stupid not to have checked this first but I'll return my remote tomorrow. :/

Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard (64-bit)

For some reason it now shows as 'connected' in the Network preferences of OS X when I plug the remote in, although not using the manually created driver which I have now deleted. Its own one appeared out of nowhere. However, it does not elicit any kind of response within the 7.8 software so it's still useless. I think Logitech are on dangerous territory with this if they are claiming their remotes work on the Mac platform.

Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard (64-bit)

DOES NOT WORK ON MAC

running Mac OS 10.7.4

just purchased a brand new Harmony One remote control, installed the new software from your website and

IT DOES NOT WORK

the Harmony Remote makes no connection with the LG tv remote and no activity on the computer

IF YOU MARKET A PRODUCT AS MAC COMPATIBLE THAT DOESNT MEAN ITS A MAC PAPERWEIGHT

this is completely unacceptable

This is a User Peer to Peer forum, did you download the latest 7.8 Mac software?

Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard (64-bit)

i couldn't get v7.8 to work with 10.7.4. i followed all directions with install, manuall uninstall and  reinstall, manual port creation etc. i could ping the remote on it'S ip after manual port creation but the software never found the remote.

answer from support until now was another description how to delete the software but without further steps. so also no luck.

v7.7. is not on the website for download but then i found it "insider" v7.8. if you select software update with v7.8 youR'E asked if you want to download the old version.

now i'm back on 7.7 and it works in 32bit kernel mode again. it's a pita to always reboot just to change something on the remote but it's better then no connection at all.
