Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard (64-bit)

So deleting NetworkInterfaces.plist and preferences.plist from /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration worked for me but I had to specify an IP on en2 in system prefs -- 192.168.1.142 (not 141!).  I did that and reopened the software, updated the remote and it worked.

Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard (64-bit)

Moving the files:

NetworkInterfaces.plist

preferences.plist

to the Desktop from this location: /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

Worked for me!

Now the problem is I don't know if Logitech will be able to update there software to check for there device on EN2 or EN4 etc. or allowed by Apple to search any devices using the old EN2 position if key and strings match previous logitech hardware replace EN2 (ethernet #2).

I feel everyone's pain here, but I worked at a Software/Hardware company and know first hand about issues like this. We would see these firestorms every now and then when Windows/Mac would decide to come out with an update, patch or security resolution that would make our hardware inop.

Did your success come with 7.7.0 or 7.8.0?

Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard (64-bit)

Seriously?!! Are you (pardon my language) freaking kidding me??

I have now spent in excess of 4 hours trying toooooooo many of the suggestions and methods listed in here any so many other places, and it STILL IS NOT WORKING!!!

I have been in contact with customer support twice since changing to Lion OSX and updated the software to the 7.8.0.6 after manually removing the old/previous software as instructed by the support listed here below:

1. Remove the Harmony Remote Software.
1) Open up a Finder window by clicking on the Finder icon in the Dock.
2) From the Finder sidebar (In the left pane of the Finder window), select Applications.
3) Locate Logitech Harmony Remote Software and drag it to the Trash.
4) Locate RemoteCore and drag it to the Trash.

2. Remove the remote drivers.
1) From the Finder sidebar, select the Mac OS X volume (typically named "Macintosh HD").
2) Open the System folder.
3) Open the Library folder.
4) Open the Extensions folder.
5)Locate three files named RemoteControl.USBLAN_usbpart.kext, Belcarra.USBLAN_netpart.kext, and Belcarra.USBLAN_usbpart.kext.
6) Drag these three files to the Trash.

3. Remove Harmony Remote Software installation receipts
1) From the Finder sidebar, select the Mac OS X volume (typically named "Macintosh HD").
2) Open the Library folder.
3) Open the Receipts folder.
4) Locate three files named logitech.pkg, core.pkg, and RemoteControlUsbKext.pkg.
5) Drag these three files to the Trash.

4. Empty Trash
5. Remove the network adapters. (Preference System > Network)

6. Restart the Mac.

7. Install the latest version of the Harmony Remote Software 7.8.0.
8. Disable the Firewall (Preference System > Security)
9. Connect the remote via USB.
10. Configure the network adapter following this FAQ http://logitech-en-emea.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/15518
11. Launch the Harmony Remote Software
12. Log into your Harmony account.
13. Update the remote.

Result? ABSOLUTELY nothing!!!!!

The software STILL doesn't see/wake the remote.

Get this work ASAP guys, this is worthless!!!!!

Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard (64-bit)

I have now dug out my old MacBook which I fortunately didn't disposed of. The good thing is that I am able to update my Harmony 900 remote on with the Logitech Harmony Remote Software

The old MacBook is running Lion but version 10.7.2 and Logitech Harmony Remote Software version 7.0.0.0 and Java 1.6.0_29-b11-402

This works for some reason

while the new MacBook Pro (which I can't get to communicate with the remote) is running Lion 10.7.4 and Logitech Harmony Remote Software 7.8.0.6 and Java 1.6.0_33-b03-424

Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard (64-bit)

I was able to get the software to load today for my Harmony 670, once that is, and while it did work it was very, very, very slow and unresponsive.

Then, in my hurried pace to get all my changes and updates done on my progamming, (for fear it would stop working or not let me in again) it all of a sudden knocks me back to the login screen where it has left me stuck, even as I write this....just as I was afraid it would...

I shut down several times and reopened...now I am back to the blank white box after the initial "loading" prompt...

This is absolutely rediculous!  It can't be this hard to make a working Mac platform application can it?!?!?!

Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard (64-bit)

I just updated the model 1100 with v7.8 with an iMac v10.7.4 and had similar problems described in many notes earlier but didn't want to try changing the ethernet ports.

I am using a wifi connection to my router so I have no active ethernet connections.

I downloaded the new 7.8 version software from the Logitech site and then SHUT EVERYTHING DOWN AND REBOOTED.

After the iMac powered up I launched the LHRS application and plugged the remote in to self identify it - worked fine.

Updated the software and watched the status - worked slow but did complete.

Later went back in and adjusted some favorite channels - worked but again it was very slow but eventually completed.

Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard (64-bit)

ANOTHER UPDATE:  I got really fed up with the really slow, unresponsive performance of the remote manager on my mac and broke down and installed it on my Win7 Media Computer.  Loaded it up only to realize that IT TOO IS RUNNING SO, VERY, SLOWLY....

It would appear that Logitech is just flat out failing...

It is totally, absolutely, rediculous that we have to depend on THEIR servers to update OUR remotes!!!!

Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard (64-bit)

I've given up completely on Logitech.  I've retired my harmony remotes and switched over fully to iRule (http://www.iruleathome.com).  It did require a bit of a time investment to make the transition, but I not only now have a working remote, I am much happier with it than I ever was with the harmony remotes.  If you are as fed up as I was, I recommend giving it a look.
