Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard (64-bit)

Just to add my voice - totally fed up here too.

I am not a professional user or an IT expert and my Harmony 1000 remote has always been well within my ability - that's why I bought it, as it was described as user friendly in set up.

Recently I've changed a key component of my home cinema set up and so added the new device in the software and find that I cannot update the remote with my new settings.

To the best of my ability I've tried the solutions listed in this (and other) threads, to no avail.  But then that's not surprising since people who clearly have more technical knowledge than me are having no joy either!

I was shocked to find out how long this problem has existed without resolution and I am currently stuck with a completely useless £150 remote!  This really isn't acceptable customer service given how much money people invest in these products.

Can anyone from Logitech come on here and reassure us that something is being done rather than just keep suggesting stuff that doesn't work for anyone?!

Harmony 1000.

Mac OSX Lion.

Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 (64-bit)

Since last Week I updatet to Mountain Lion OSX 10.8.

I can install the Remote Software but it doesn't start.

Why is Logitech not uptodate with a Update for Lion? :smileysad:

Or I'm the only one with this problem and don't know how to fix it by myself?

Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 (64-bit)

It works for me too and I can't notice anything different after installing Mountain Lion. The only problem I have is that I have to switch to English before signing in. Otherwise the window goes all blank when connecting my remote with the USB cable. Strange, annoying and quite bad but I don't have the time to bother.

Don't worry, HTInstaller. Mac users have had to put up with incompatabilities in both software and hardware since the Mac was born! It's only a few years since the Mac OS has been a serious contender to the ubiquitous Microsoft empire.

Logitech appears to be happy living in the 90s with their Harmony software!

Re: Harmony Software Updated for OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 (64-bit)

When a fewl of you are claiming that the Remote program works fine with the Mac Mountain Lion update am I to assume that the program was installed prior to the Moutain Lion(OS X 10.8) update??

My problem is apparently that I had never installed the Remote program before and tried to download it unto an iMac running Mountain Lion for the first time.  The program will not load because of a message claiming that it is from an "unidentified developer" and needs to be downloaded from the Apple App store.

Is anyone else having this same problem and is there some sort of fix other than installing the Remote program unto a Mac running an older OS X??

Have you made sure that your Gatekeeper function is set to "Allow all" in the Privacy and security settings in Mountain Lion? I am pretty sure it won't solve it but worth to give it a shot
