8/7 edit: while it certainly appeared to work, now it won't really even charge....I'm giving up.
LOGITECH - IT'S RIDICULOUS TO NOT SUPPORT LION, AND EVEN MORE INCREDIBLE THAT YOU'RE NOT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGING IT WITH A SIMPLE MESSAGE OR UPDATE WITH STATUS!!! My remote is worthless, and I'm starting to get used to having a couple remotes....

I was able to get this to work on Lion. I'm not at all technical, so I'll just lay out what I did.
1. Based on advice from another thread, I went to Java Preferences and set 32 bit as the first option (in Lion, 64 bit is the first). Just drag it up so it's first.
2. With the remote NOT connected, start the Logitech software.
3. Remove the battery in the remote.
4. Connect via usb (the Logitech site suggested that with the battery removed, the system would recognize the remote since it would simply start charging via usb). This did not work. 
5. Disconnect the remote, put the battery back in.
6. Restart the software, then connect the remote when prompted (like you always have). Worked.
7. I went back into Java preferences and reset 64 bit as the primary, then followed the usual steps I always have and it worked fine in 64 as well.
This may all be a very complicated way of saying "change Java to 32 bit, take the battery out, connect and update, then change Java back to 64 bit", but being non-technical figured I'd lay it all out (ie, I'm guessing step 4 may be irrelevant). I never restarted the computer or anything, was pretty quick and simple.
