Hi guys!
Does anybody know how to let my Harmony 650 to select the corect Input when using activity function?
My TV is Sharp LCD-46GE50A.
The Harmony software suggested that I should use the Method 1 to loop around input sources. But I found that actually, my TV won't switch to the next input by pressing the input source once. This will only bring up the pull-down menu for input sources. I will have to press the same button again right after the first time, the TV will step down to the next input after this.
In this case, tested for a while, I changed to use the Method 3, which is to press one button to bring up the input source list, then press another button (for my case, it's actually the same button) to loop between these inputs, then press a 3rd button to confirm the input (which in my case, is enter or none).
By setting it this way, I found my TV will go to the correct setting as long as the input source for the next activity I'm going to switch to is greater than the input that I'm currently using. for example, if the input for Watching TV is Input 1, while the input for Watching a movie is Input 2. If I switch the activity from watching TV to Watching a movie, the TV will give me the correct input after the switch. But If I switch the activity vise versa, from watching a movie to watching TV, the TV will stuck at the last valid input on the pull-down list, which is input 7.
I have tried many ways to correct this, but no luck.
Could someone help me figure this out? I will be really appreciated.

There are two delays that would effect the problem you are having, Power On delay. if missing the input from an all off state, and Inter-device delay, if missing the input when switching between activities. Both delays are adjusted on the remote by holding the Help button for 5 seconds to get to the advanced setting area. Either delay would need to be increased to fix the problem.

Hi,
Thanks for the advice. But I couldn't find the Power On delay, instead, I found the Input Delay and Inter Delay.
But luckily, I solved the proble.
I deleted the TV from my Devices list. And added it again. This time, The software suggested that I should use the Method 2, which is separate keys for separate inputs. Though I didn't have these keys on my original TV remote. This totally solved my problem.
I was inspired by remembering the fact that as long as the TV models are of the same brand, their remote can work on any of the TV models of that Brand most of the time. So you should always be able to find other more advanced TV models that their remote control is able to offer more advanced features of that model. If that feature happens to be one of your TV's, but you are unable to find that control on your original remote. You should be lucky to use that remote control to do it. So why not choose that model in the Harmony software to control your TV?
Now I'm completely happy with my home entertainment syste.
Next step: to extend my control ability from living room to my bedroom ![]()
Thanks again!

How did that solve your problem? Does it do the automated switch correctly now?
I'm having a similar situation with my TV, and when I tried method 2, it didn't automatically switch them on its own, I had to keep pressing the button until the correct input was selected. This made it work just like my old TV remote did, which is one of the reasons I wanted to buy a Harmony.

Yes, my remote works fine now.
The thing is, If you choose method 2, the remote assume there would be separate keys to select the different Input. And the there actually is for this TV! They just don't show up on your original TV remote control. As long as you know how to triger those keys, you can switch to any input from any input. Silver lining is, your Harmony control knows about this! as long as you select a similar model (usually a more advanced and expensive model) as your TV instead of your actual model. The preset remote setting stored on Harmony remote data base will let you have those magic keys.
For example, my TV is actually LCD-46GE5A. But if I told Harmony software that my TV model is LCD-46GE5A, it will not give me the individual input selecter. I will have to tell her that my TV is LCD-46GE50A (which is a fansier model with similar function) so that she could give those keys.
