I have the Harmony One, and a Denon AVR3808ci with multiple zones. If I turn on an activity for Zone1, and then use the Denon web interface to turn zone 2 on, if I then use the System Off button on the Harmony One, it will also turn zone 2 off. I have learned the auxillary remote's Main Zone on/off commands to power on/off the denon used in the activity, yet it turns the it entirely off, instead of leaving zone 2 on. (I thought it used to do this correctly, but it doesn't now.) I can use the Zone1 power on/off device commands from the Harmony successfully, and do not understand why the System Off doesn't follow suit.
Can anyone shed some light on this!
Thanks

I have a not alltogether disimilar problem that when i switch to watch tv it power toggles the virgin box off because it was on when i selected it. My answer, the software and product is crap as well as the support. They have your money and like me there is nothing you can do about it.

Ah, come on, it's not that bad. I use it for 10 activities spread out over 3 rooms, plus the multi-zone. Just have a single issue. When I bought it, the Denon overwhelmed it with its vast repertoire of commands, and paired it to multiple devices tailored for some obscure activities. Very happy with it, just have to keep an eye out for "battery bulge!"

Have you tried setting the receiver to stay on, or sending a delayed command to turn it back on after leaving the main activity?

Finally figured out a solution to this. You need to teach the harmony a new power off command. The power button on the top of your original remote (red ones) turn the whole receiver off. However, at the bottom, you have zone device power settings. When the denon remote is on zone 1, teach it the bottom button power off. Then go to the zone 1 receiver, change power settings, keep the power on the same (or use the zone specific one if you want). On the power off, say I have the remote and I know which button to press. Teach it that new button, and it will auto update all the activities!

That looks like an altogether different problem.
If you switch from an activity that includes a certain device to another that doesn't include that device then of course the Harmony powers off that device.
If you don't want that to happen then you either include the device in the second activity or change its Power status in the "software".
That's one of the features that actually make the "software" highly efficient.

I have no trouble with this issue. After setting up the device, I simply go back and review but then check Yes but I want to add more controls. This leads me to a bunch of new screens. I use this to change inputs on the tv when leaving an activity or to leave my tv on when I turn off the blue ray. I have also learned another trick...when I found out my AVR was not the most expensive for a specific manufacturer, I set up a dummy device for the expensive AVR, said I did not need to control device, then included the device in the activity and customized buttons and added the pronto codes from the more expensive device.
Since Harmony programs the pronto codes for each device individually by combining these profiles in an activity one can obtain additional codes
