How to set "Stays on same input" with "Method 4"

My HAIER TV uses Method 4 for input selection (Input button pulls up a menu, associated number key selects input)... however, it also stays on the previous input when powered off, but when using Method 4, I don't get this option... so every time I turn the TV on, I have to wait the 10+ seconds for it to power up, then send the Input commands, before I can use the remote.  How can I tell it that the input stays so it can skip this step??

Are you saying that you only are using 1 input for all of your actiivities for your TV?  Are yiu using somthing else for your devices input connection then going to the one input on your TV?

Re: How to set "Stays on same input" with "Method 4"

The only device I have plugged into this TV right now is the PVR, so I never need to change inputs.

When I power up the TV, it stays on the same input that it was on when it was shut off.  When you select one of the other three methods for changing inputs, it asks you whether this is the case, but with method 4 (which my TV uses), it doesn't.

So when I hit "Watch TV" from the TV being powered off, the remote always wants to send the input commands (input button, then #6), even though it doesn't need to.  It's a hassle because it takes the TV some 10 seconds to power up before it will recognize the input command.  If the remote sends that command and the TV doesn't respond, the next thing it sends is the 6, which the TV takes as a command to change to the tuner channel 6.

So, when I hit "Watch TV", I have to make sure to keep the remote pointed at the TV the whole time until the cycle is complete, and I can't do anything else with it until that's done.

I just want to tell it that I don't have to change inputs every time I turn on the TV.
