Logitech....
What is going on? I own a Harmony 900 (and before that the TC-30), and I have been somewhat happy with their quality and performance. There is clear room for improvement, but your competition (of which I have tried many), is not even close. Today, I just bought 2 new Harmony 700s. If I don't hear that your company is working to update your software they are going back to the store this week.
I use Log Harmony Remote Software Ver 7 to program my 900. It is not a great interface but it gets the job done. It's basically the same software since Harmon Kardon created it.
First, why can't you clone one setup for more than one remote? It's been years and you still don't have this functionality despite inumerable requests of your customers. As a programmer I know this not a complicated fix.
SECOND, and most importantly, you are selling the Logitech 700 as an 8 device remote, but when you use the Software Ver 7, it only allows use of 6 devices. Why?
As an alternative, you can now program the remotes on myharmony.com, and with this programming use all 8 devices, however, myharmony.com HAS LESS FUNCTIONALITY than the software (no ability to program macros when starting an activity). How could this be? and why? Are the updates in progress? If this is intentional, someone should be looking for a new job...
PLEASE tell me an update is on the way that will correct this...
Thanks

No response. No choice but to return the remotes.

In response to your first comment, I have heard, but not tried this. If you call the Logitech support group and ask them to duplicate a logon that is yours, they will do it. You can then log in with that new logon id and modify it for a second remote.
For your second comment, the 8 device limit for the 700 is only supported by the myharmony.com site. the Logitech Harmony Remote Software 7.7.0 only will support 6 devices on the 700. However, I previously had a 360 which would support 15 devices. I had 10 devices defined to one login for a 360 and when I got the 700, I got into that login and did a "Replace Remote". All 10 devices are now defined and work with the 700. Since you own a 900, you could create a new account for the 900, define the devices you need and then do a "Replace Remote" to the 700.
