Yeah, this still doesn't see my remote either. I've tried everything. Sad. Was so promising to see a release candidate...

Well, I may be the only cheerful voice here but the new software seems to work for me on my Harmony 785. Using an iMac with OSX Lion, latest version, it was great to see the Harmony App load up and show my settings instead of hanging as it used to. Then changed some settings for the remote, hooked it up to a USB lead attached to one of the keyboard ports and it updated nicely.
The only hangup was that the software didn't boot a second time, needing a restart of the iMac. Still some room for improvement there in the way it shuts down perhaps?
All that said - well done Logitech and about time too! Please do keep it up.

@Viv: you call that "well done"?
Harmony remotes are being advertised as being compatible with Mac OS X. And they aren't! I call this fraud rather than "well done"...

Thank you "Jukkaforss" for your detailed feedback.
It seems there are two network interfaces setup for working with Harmony Remotes. The EN3 is most probably from your previous installation which has not been deleted by the new installation and interfering with the new interface setup.
We will modify the installation script to address this scenerio. In the meantime, could you please try:
- Uninstall the software
- Delete EN3 and EN4 interfaces under System Preferences -> Network
- Reboot the MAC
- Reinstall the RC version of the software

So for dummies like me, are you saying that I cant update for 2 900 models because I only have apple computers? I connected this and it shows 0 percent complete. Is there anyone who can tell me in laymans terms if this is something I can fix? Mac OS X 10.7.3 is what I have. I would appreciate some help... Thanks!

Hi balamaran,
I just tried the RC again after uninstalling 7.7 and deleting the Network entry first. Still no dice seeing my Harmony 900...

Hi Remotefan
Thanks for following the instructions; it seems you still have two network interfaces with Harmony driver. Can you confirm whether you had deleted EN3/ EN4 before starting the reinstall?

Hi,
I uninstalled software and deleted interface, there was only one.
Reboot and reinstall software.
Had to create interface manyally (en4).
No change, here is still two interfaces and not able to upgrade remote.

Well .. here's my success story (still don't like the gui, but it works now)
- Uninstalled Harmony Software
- Deleted Network Interface
- Deleted en2 and en6 (remote interfaces) directly in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/Networ
- reboot
- install software
- create new network interface based on en6 (which is the only remote interface now) assigning 192.168.142.1/24
- start harmony Software and update remote
- While the remote is restarting I have to disconnect it and as soon as it's started connect it again -> else there is an error which says it failed (even if that's not true - it worked anyway)
took me some time but now it's at least working.

Wow! My thanks to Ben. I followed his routine:
- Uninstalled Harmony Software
- Deleted Network Interface
- Deleted en2 and en6 (remote interfaces) directly in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/Networ
- reboot
- install software
- create new network interface based on en6 (which is the only remote interface now) assigning 192.168.142.1/24
- start harmony Software and update remote
I didn't have the error he mentioned in his last line. I've now updated the remote twice without issue.
So, Logitech application team--your software has some issue resolving multiple USB Ethernet interfaces.
Chris
