Hello,
I hope someone can help me.
I also have a Harmony 900. I have the software (RC version) installed, but it will not start. I have the software removed and installed again. Same problem.
iMac
Mac OS X 10.7.3
Thank you.
Best regards,
Hank

Nice, yeah deleting the entries out of the plist did the trick. Note, rebooting after this step is key otherwise they can reappear in the plist.

OK- had to come in under a new name/email address as, I assume, I was locked out for stating the obvious numerous times over the past year.
Note: I went through the old software setup with Logitech's helpers via phone calls three separate times, trying everything, until they finally agreed that the old software didn't and wouldn't work with my Harmony One and an iMac running Lion. It took literally three hours for level after level of support to finally admit the obvious.
So, after simply ignoring the problem for close to a year, I see that they've released a new software. Joy, I think!
So I uninstall all that I can find of the old software, dl the new (April 17th) one, run the enclosed uninstaller just to be sure, and then install. I reboot.
I click on the app and it actually opens (best I've seen from Logitech since I converted to Lion!). It asks me to check a box re updates, I do, and it updates and says "done." I plug in the remote, which happily says, "USB Connected." Then nothing.
Why? Because the app has frozen, requiring a Force Quit. I uninstall and try again. Same thing. I try plugging in the remote and then opening the app. I try another reinstall/reboot. Of course, Force Quit after Force Quit.
So I am going to state the obvious (and yes, I read this entire thread): Logitech cannot get its act together when it comes to Mac software anymore. I can't believe they released this in the form it is now in. I'm not going to play with plists and network ens. Beta or not, they've had all this time to simply create an app that works and what we get is just another busted app.
Oh, and before anyone says, oh, all you have to do is.... That's not the point. If I want to change my remote, I can use my wife's MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard and do so. Logitech has had all the time since Lion was released, like every other software company in the world, to rewrite their software to work on the new OS. Virtually every other app I've got (and I've got a lot) works with Lion. Disk Warrior and TechToolPro have utilities out that work with Lion. Adobe and Microsoft have their apps working on Lion. Why is it that only Logitech can't do it?
Oh, and I like Logitech products. I'm willing to spend lots of money to buy a Harmoney One. I have many upper-end UltimateEars earbuds, including TripleFi's, which cost about what the Harmony costs.
The point is, well, the point is that can't believe that they would release this as if we won't be able to tell it won't work. They MUST have iMacs or Pros in their R&D shop to run their software on before releasing it. WHY would they release it like this? I felt disrespected when I was going through the routine with support with the old software, and they wouldn't believe what I was telling them: the old software, more than a year old then, simply wouldn't work with an up-to-date Apple OS. Now I feel like they are just incompetent. My wife is standing here telling me she thinks it's cute that I expect their software to work. I guess I just feel that a company this big, selling products this expensive, would get its act together for a segment of their end users. Silly me.

Harmony 1100 and Wireless Extender
Apple OSX 10.7.3
Works perfectly. Did not need to do any workarounds or anything.

Logitech Harmony Remote Software 7.8.0.6
iMac i3, OS X 10.7.3
Harmony 900
Working on 64
Rebooting in 32 works fine but it is an annoyance.
1. Uninstalled via app
2. Removed user/library/preferences/com.Logitech…plist(s)
3. Removed manually created Harmony 900 network service (made sure to click apply after the thousandth try with it continuously reappearing (DOH!)
4. Unplugged all USBs except for Keyboard
5. Deleted en3 and en4 (remote interfaces) directly in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/Networ
6. Reboot
7. Installed 7.8.0.6
These are the main things I found in my NetworkInterfaces.plist (edited for space). This was my first time messing with a plist. I figured out that starts a main segment ends and a new begins at the </dict><dict> part (now I hope my USB-to-serial X10 home lighting still work...).
<string>en2</string>
<integer>2</integer>
<string>IOService:/AppleACPIPlatformExpert/PCI0@0/
<key>SCNetworkInterfaceInfo</key>
</dict>
<dict>
<string>en3</string>
<integer>3</integer>
<string>IOService:/AppleACPIPlatformExpert/PCI0@0/
<string>Ethernet Adaptor (en3)</string>
</dict>
<dict>
<string>en4</string>
<integer>4</integer>
<string>IOService:/AppleACPIPlatformExpert/PCI0@0/
<key>SCNetworkInterfaceInfo</key>
<string>Ethernet Adaptor (en4)</string>
</dict>
Heck-yeah it's BETA!
General public would be lost.

I now have a very expensive Harmony 1100eu brick.
Umpteen uninstalls, deleting plists, reboots later, reinstalls and stil it doesn't work. The Harmony software doesn not connect to the remote to log into my account and if I log in with user id and password, it does not update the remote with the changes I've made.
Useless.
Worse still, I can run Win7 in a VM on my iMac and attempting to go through Harmony remote software installed under Windows makes no difference. Still no connection between remote and the software.
I've tried different USB cables, different USB sockets on the iMAc and still nothing.
This is soooo frustrarting. I've recently changed my TV/devices and need t change the way the remote functions or I'm back to umpteen seperate remotes and a set up my wife can't handle.
One of those changes is to a Mac Mini (running Lion!) but I'm reluctant to go through all this frustration again trying to run the Harnony software on that only to get nowhere.
Is it too much to ask that Logitech get the software to work properly?

Lion 10.7.3
Beta 7.8.0.6
Same old same old.
Finally got it working under Snow Leopard. No go under Lion. Tried the Beta and no go. Connects and will not update. I am not about to start reconfiguring things. So will try again in a month to see if there is an upgrade that might work. If no then Logitch then gets relagated to my no buy list. All the Logitech stuff that I have bought over the years. This what happens when a company is run off a spreadsheet I guess. Customers are only people who you direct advertizing towards, not deal with their problems. Likely 80% do not know the difference so that is fine for the bottom line.
I have not been this frustrated since Windows 3.

The BETA program is now closed. Please make sure you download the released version of the software via the product support page and continue the discussion in this thread.
