Lutron IR Dimmer

I have the Harmony 650 and Lutron IR dimmer switch in my living room.  I cannot get one-touch control of the dimmer that is independent of any activity.  I want this because sometimes I need to turn the lights on even if I'm not watching TV (wierd, right?).

It seems the only way to use the the harmony to control the dimmer the way I want to is to select it from the devices menu every time I want to turn them on or off (three buttons- Devices, Lutron, On/Off).   The cheap remote that came with the switch can do it better.

If i add the lutron to an activity, for the purpose of setting on/off buttons, the lights go on and off with the activity.  I don't like this at all.

Am I missing something?

Re: Lutron IR Dimmer

OK, i figured out the second part.  the activity no longer turns the lights on and off.

Still stuck on the first part.  When all activities are off, i still want one-touch control over the lights (via the 4 colored buttons).  seems that all programmable buttons are inactive when activities are off.

There would be no way to have any Active buttons once you press the Off Button, so you would have to have a Lighting Activity to be able to control your lights. You would have to create a Utility Lighting Activity.  You would have to map all of the commands that you would need to use in that activity as no commands ar assigned when you create aUtility Activity.  To Create a Utility Activity, you would have to select the second option to create the activity manually.
