My model 659 won't change inputs on my Sharp tv when I switch to my roku. Inputs will switch fine when I switch to the DVD or cable. I've tried removing the tv and re-installing it and using the original remote to try to get the 659 "in sync". Also after it switches to the roku I have to punch devices button and choose roku to get the roku functions to work

If your Sharp TV is not switching to the correct input when changing activities, increase the Inter-device delay for your TV

Thank you that seems to work. But I still have the issue of getting the remote to switch to the roku function automatically. I still have to manually hit "Devices" and choose "Roku" get get it to run it.

Select your Roku activity in the software, then select Customize Buttons, and make any additions or corrections to your hard and soft buttons. When done Update your remote.

Programming the buttons isn't an issue. When I select "watch tv" after the remote gets everything turned on the remote is left in the mode to control my cable box for most functions and tv for sound. I don't need to hit "Devices" and select "Cable'. When I select "Roku" it switches everything except the remote is left in the wrong state and I have to hit "Devices" then hit "Roku" to control the roku box. And then it controls everything fine, but I have to manually select Roku Is there a way to have the remote end in the proper state?

For your Roku, you need to create a Watch DVD Activity for the buttons to be programmed right, not a Watch TV activity

I use an activity called "watch netflix", "watch dvd" is already used by the dvd activity. Do I need to create a 2nd "watch dvd" activity?

also I've just noticed that when I manully switch to the Roku I am unable to control the volume on the tv

Yes, you can have as many DVD activities as you want, just select the second option when creating the activity to do it manually.  When you select a Device, you can only control that device, so if your are selecting the Roku device, you would not be able to contol another device's volume.

If that is the case then why does it control my tv's volume when I have the cable box selected? It doesn't work that way on my 1100.
