Remote Control Software

Hi -

The Panasonic DMR-BWT800 PVR (and others) has the ability to set the remote to one of several remote numbers (1 to 6) to distinguish it from another Panasonic PVR remote in the same room.  This is all good. 

But does anybody know how the Logitech Harmony Software handles this?  How can you tell it which setting you have selected on the PVR for the remote?  (For example if you set the remote to remote number 4 on the PVR) This changes the signal sent to the PVR, so surely somehow Logitech handles this.

If your Panasonic, is set to a different remote address, and if you are using the 7.7 software, there is an option to Confirm IR Address in the Settings software.  Also in the setup when you add a Panasonic that is capable of different Command IR settings, when you add the device to your Profile, you will be asked to confirm 3 commands from the original remote so that the correct Command code is used by your Harmony, this would also be done using the  MyHarmony.com setup.  If you change the command set of your Panasonic, after the initial setup using MyHarmony, you would have to delete the device in your profile, then add it back in to get the correct Command set, with the 7.7 software, you would simply select the Device in the software, select Settings, then select Confirm IR send 3 commands from the original remote, you would be asked which 3 commands to confirm by the setup Wizard, and the proper Command Address would be selected, and changed.

The defalut remote address for the Harmony remote is channel #1

But I was trying to work out how to set it to ANOTHER remote other than number 1.  I think the first reply MAY have resolved the issue.  I will try.

Then yes just switch it to whatever remote code you would like and confirm commands here is a useful link for you
