My MCE goes to Recorded TV instead of Live TV - why?

I have Media Center PC, A/V Receiver and a TV, with "Watch TV" activity configured as follows:

DeviceStatus / Actions
Microsoft Media Center PCMicrosoft Media Center PC is on
Samsung TVSamsung TV is on
Yamaha AV ReceiverYamaha AV Receiver is on
OtherAll other devices are off
Microsoft Media Center PCMicrosoft Media Center PC  is set to "TV"
Samsung TVSamsung TV  is set to "Hdmi1"
Yamaha AV ReceiverYamaha AV Receiver  is set to "HDMI1"

However, MCE always starts at the "Recorded TV" screen. I see the line "Microsoft Media Center PC is set to TV" but I'm not sure how to adjust this command to switch to Live TV automatically - now I have to press "LiveTV" software button on my One remote manually.

BTW, my MCE is ASRock Vision 3D which has been on the market for several months already and it's still not in the Logitech device database - how long does it usually take for new devices to get there? I hoped I won't need to mess around manual configuration, it's really not the smoothest experience (problematic UI, long testing cycles etc.)

Instead of pressing that button manually have its command sent automatically as Additional When Activtiy Starts.

That's what I did but why does Harmony One switch my MCE to "Recorded TV" input instead of "Live TV"? Are there some logs that I could inspect?

Re: My MCE goes to Recorded TV instead of Live TV - why?

Hi Guys

I have a 700 & have the same problem. I cannot see that I have an option in my 700 setup for "Additional" commands to be added to an Activity. Does this mean that the 700 cannot be setup to open up on "LiveTV"?

Also, it would also be great to be able to setup the 700 so that after pressing "Watch TV", the Favourites page would be displayed, as well as LIve TV being activated.

If this is too much for the 700, what models are capable of this?

Thanks in advance

Joe

[ Edited ]

After messin around for a few hours, I have managed to solve my main problem. By going to Activities & changing the MCE input to "No Change", when I press "Watch TV", the screen opens up to where I left it....watching TV :smileyhappy:

Now if I could only manage to get the Favorite Channels to open up automatically:smileymad:

Re: My MCE goes to Recorded TV instead of Live TV - why?

I have same problem - Harmony 700. Have a  MediaCtr TV customized activity and MC is set to TV, and it goes to recorded TV. So I added an input to MCE named LiveTV, picked the LiveTV command, and then set the activity to use the LiveTV command when I press the MediaCtr TV activity - it STILL only goes to LiveTV if I do the acvitivity TWICE or RANDOMLY depending where I might be in Media Center! If im in any other media center activity, and press LiveTV, it goes right to LiveTV! **bleep** this is frustrating. Another irritant is my MediaCtr Videos activity which explicitly says to use the Videos input of the MCE does NOTHING! BUT, if I press Videos from within ANY Media Center activity, it goes right to my video listings. GRRRRRR Logitech!

Re: My MCE goes to Recorded TV instead of Live TV - why?

I'm having the same problem.  I've set up multiple Logitech remotes over the last two years, and each one, including a ONE I set up today, takes me to recorded TV in the Watch TV activity even though I've specified live TV" in the remote set up.  (More specifically "TV" since there is no Live TV option in the WIndows Media Center SE.) It appeared that an earlier poster solved the issue, but didn't QUITE articulate how.  I don't want to invove a third party software cludge.  Some folk can get this to work with just the remote and the WMC (I assume) and I'd like to know how they did.  Anyone out there lend a hand? Is there a better model to use rather than Windows Media CEnter SE?

THanks,

Craig

Re: My MCE goes to Recorded TV instead of Live TV - why?

I just fixed this by renaming the input on the MCE device from TV to Live TV.  Had to back out to devices, select the MCE Computer, and rename the input. Hope this helps someone.
