I have had my remote/wireless extender set up with the same equipment for more than a year, and out of nowhere this week the Harmony 1100 ceased to control my Onkyo TX-NR708 receiver. Nothing changed, no equipment added/subtracted, no changes/updates to the remote or wireless extender.
Tonight I upgraded firmware for the remote and the wireless extender. I then deleted/replaced the wireless extender. I have deleted/replaced the Onkyo TX-NR708. I have even switched the emitters in the event the one I was using was broken, and also switched ports. I also confirmed that the 1100 can control the Onkyo directly (it does).
I am at a loss. I feel like I have done everything to troubleshoot this issue. Please help!

Have you added any other devices in your home, Baby monitor, cordless phone, etc, do you have a neighbor that is real close that might have something that may be causing interference?

No, nothing changed. I have tried deleted/added the Onkyo, deleted/added the wireless extender. Tried it as ALL (default), tried it assigned to port B, then port D (different emitters just in case one was broken).
The only way the 1100 will control the Onkyo is directly, which is impossible long-term since the Onkyo is in a component closet in the hallway, away from the family room.

FOUND A WORKAROUND
Picked up a 6' 1/8" male-male cord and plugged it into Port D on the wireless extender and into the remote input on the rear of the Onkyo receiver. Problem solved.
Still baffled by why the emitters stopped working after a year of uninterrupted, flawless performance? Would love to hear a solution otherwise.
