I tried stopping the service as well from task manager to no avail. Two full days and I cannot program my remote. Very annoying. The fact that Logitech only allows their remotes to be programmed using a service "in the cloud" is also annoying. If only they'd provide the setup software to their customers they would not have this problem.

This suggestion fixed it for me. Thanks! Rebooting probably would have fixed it also.

I finally was able to get the software working. I brought up the process window and killed the process, restarted the app, same problem, killed it again. I did this 3 or 4 times and it finally worked.

There are actually many benefits to using the cloud for this. Harmony has been doing this since long before the word "cloud" became trendy, in fact. Among the benefits: automatic updates to the device database, access to your settings from any computer, no need to worry about misplacing your configuration file or losing it in a hard drive crash.
Before you give up, try rebooting your computer to see if that clears the problem.

That "solution" does not work for me and honestly this is an absolute joke. Well, that's it. I've wasted 3 hours on this already so back in the box it goes, I'm returning it today. In addition - you will not find me purchasing another Logitech product in the future. You guys are clowns. Thanks for nothing.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work. The DNS www.myremotesetup.com is pingable, but the software still doesn't connect.
